اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ یُجٰدِلُوۡنَ فِیۡۤ اٰیٰتِ اللّٰہِ بِغَیۡرِ سُلۡطٰنٍ اَتٰٮہُمۡ ۙ اِنۡ فِیۡ صُدُوۡرِہِمۡ اِلَّا کِبۡرٌ مَّا ہُمۡ بِبٰلِغِیۡہِ ۚ فَاسۡتَعِذۡ بِاللّٰہِ ۖ اِنَّہٗ ہُوَ السَّمِیۡعُ الۡبَصِیۡرُ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Those who dispute concerning the Signs of Allah without any authority having come to them — there is nothing in their breasts but a feeling of greatness which they will never attain. So seek refuge in Allah. Surely He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
یقیناً وہ لوگ جو اللہ کی آیات کے بارہ میں ایسی کسی قطعی دلیل کے بغیر جھگڑتے ہیں جو اُن کے پاس آئی ہو، اُن کے دلوں میں ایسی بڑائی کے سوا کچھ نہیں جسے وہ کبھی بھی پا نہیں سکیں گے۔ پس اللہ کی پناہ مانگ۔ یقیناً وہی بہت سننے والا (اور) گہری نظر رکھنے والا ہے۔
French
Ceux qui discutent à propos des Signes d’Allāh sans qu’aucune autorité leur soit parvenue – il n’y a rien dans leurs poitrines excepté un faux désir de grandeur qu’ils ne réaliseront jamais. Cherche donc refuge auprès d’Allāh. Assurément, Il est Celui Qui Entend Tout, Qui Voit Tout.

Diejenigen, die über die Zeichen Allahs streiten, ohne dass irgendeine Ermächtigung zu ihnen kam – nichts ist in ihren Herzen als Großmannssucht –, sie werden es nicht erreichen. So nimm Zuflucht bei Allah. Fürwahr, Er ist der Allhörende, der Allsehende.

Quienes disputan sobre los Signos de Al-lah sin que se les haya dado autoridad alguna, no tienen nada en sus pechos salvo una presunción de grandeza que nunca alcanzarán. Busca pues refugio en Al-lah. En verdad Él es Quien todo lo Oye, Quien todo lo Ve.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
وہ لوگ جو کہ اللہ کی آیتوں کے بارے میں بغیر کسی دلیل کے جو ان کے پاس (خدا کی طرف سے) آئی ہو بحث میں لگے رہتے ہیں‘ ان کے دلوں میں بڑی بڑی خواہشیں ہیں جن کو وہ کبھی نہ پہنچیں گے۔ پس اللہ کی پناہ مانگتا رہ۔ وہ بہت سننے والا (اور) بہت دیکھنے والا ہے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
[a]Those who dispute concerning the Signs of Allah without any authority having come to them from Allah— there is nothing in their breasts but an ambition to become great[2613] which they will never attain. So seek refuge in Allah. Surely, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
40:36.

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ جو لوگ کسی سند و حجت کے بغیر جو اُن کے پاس آئی ہو، اللہ کی آیات میں جھگڑے کر رہے ہیں اُن کے دلوں میں کبر بھرا ہوا ہے، مگر وہ اُس بڑائی کو پہنچنے والے نہیں ہیں جس کا وہ گھمنڈ رکھتے ہیں بس اللہ کی پناہ مانگ لو، وہ سب کچھ دیکھتا اور سنتا ہے

Indeed, those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah without [any] authority having come to them - there is not within their breasts except pride, [the extent of] which they cannot reach. So seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Seeing.

بے شک جو لوگ الله کی آیتوں میں بغیر اس کے کہ ان کے پاس کوئی دلیل آئی ہو جھگڑتے ہیں اور کچھ نہیں بس ان کے دل میں بڑائی ہے کہ وہ اس تک کبھی پہنچنے والے نہیں سو الله سے پناہ مانگو کیوں کہ وہ سننے والا دیکھنے والا ہے

Those who dispute concerning the signs of God, without any authority come to them, in their breasts is only pride, that they shall never attain. So seek thou refuge in God; surely He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing.
