وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And remember the day, when He will gather them all together; then He will say to the angels: ‘Was it you that they worshipped?’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور جس دن وہ ان سب کو اکٹھا کرے گا۔ پھر فرشتوں سے پوچھے گا کیا یہ لوگ تمہاری ہی عبادت کیا کرتے تھے؟

Et rappelle le jour où Il les rassemblera tous ensemble ; alors Il dira aux anges : « Est-ce vous qu’ils adoraient en particulier ? »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
وہ کہیں گے کہ تو پاک ہے۔ ان کو چھوڑ کر فقط تو ہمارا دوست ہے (پس یوں نہیں جس طرح کفار کہیں گے) بلکہ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ وہ خیالی اور مخفی ہستیوں کی عبادت کرتے تھے اور ان میں سے اکثر ان ہستیوں پر ایمان لاتے تھے۔

Commentary:
The reference in the word jinn is to the proud, wicked and ungodly people who are not the followers of any revealed religion and who have been spoken of in vv. 32, 33 and 34 above. The word may also mean hidden forces of evil, the root جن (janna) meaning, it veiled, concealed or covered (Lane).

تو وہ جواب دیں گے کہ "پاک ہے آپ کی ذات، ہمارا تعلق تو آپ سے ہے نہ کہ اِن لوگوں سے دراصل یہ ہماری نہیں بلکہ جنوں کی عبادت کرتے تھے، ان میں سے اکثر انہی پر ایمان لائے ہوئے تھے"

They will say, "Exalted are You! You, [O Allah], are our benefactor not them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them."
