And thou seest the mountains which thou thinkest to be firmly fixed, but they shall pass away like the passing of the clouds — the work of Allah Who has made everything perfect. Verily, He knows full well what you do.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور تُو پہاڑوں کو دیکھتا ہے اس حال میں کہ انہیں ساکن و جامد گمان کرتا ہے حالانکہ وہ بادلوں کی طرح چل رہے ہیں۔ (یہ) اللہ کی صنعت ہے جس نے ہر چیز کو مضبوط بنایا۔ یقیناً وہ اُس سے جو تم کرتے ہو ہمیشہ باخبر رہتا ہے۔

French

Et tu vois les montagnes que tu crois figées, mais elles flottent comme flottent les nuages : telle est l’œuvre d’Allāh Qui a rendu toute chose ferme et résistante. En vérité, Il est très conscient de ce que vous faites.

German

Und du siehst die Berge, die du fest gegründet glaubst, doch sie bewegen* sich wie die Bewegung der Wolken: das Wirken Allahs, Der alles vollendet hat. Wahrlich, Er weiß wohl, was ihr tut.

你观看山岳, 而以为它们是固立的, 其实它像云一样经过。[958]这是安拉的手工。他把每一个东西都制成完美的。他确完全知悉你们所做的。

E vedrai i monti, che credevi così saldi, scorrere come scorrono le nubi. Tale è l'operato di Allah, che ha fatto ogni cosa con perfezione. In verità, Egli sa benissimo quello che fate.

Y ves las montañas imaginando que están quietas, pero flotan como flotan las nubes. Así es la obra de Al‑lah, Quien lo ha hecho todo firme y fuerte. En verdad, Él sabe muy bien lo que hacéis.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور تو پہاڑوں کو اس صورت میں دیکھتا ہے کہ وہ اپنی جگہ ٹھہرے ہوئے ہیں حالانکہ وہ بادلوں[3] کی طرح چل رہے ہیں۔ یہ اللہ کی صنعت ہے جس نے ہر چیز کو مضبوط بنایا ہے وہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب خبردار ہے ۔

And thou seest the mountains, which thou thinkest to be firmly fixed, pass away as the clouds pass away[2194]––the handiwork of Allah Who has made everything perfect. Verily, He is fully Aware of what you do.

And thou seest the mountains that thou thinkest to be firmly fixed passing away like the passing away of the clouds—the handiwork of Allah Who has made everything perfect. Verily, He knows full well what you do.[2871]

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

آج تو پہاڑوں کو دیکھتا ہے اور سمجھتا ہے کہ خوب جمے ہوئے ہیں، مگر اُس وقت یہ بادلوں کی طرح اڑ رہے ہوں گے، یہ اللہ کی قدرت کا کرشمہ ہو گا جس نے ہر چیز کو حکمت کے ساتھ استوار کیا ہے وہ خوب جانتا ہے کہ تم لوگ کیا کرتے ہو

English - Sahih

And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allah, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do.

اور تو جو پہاڑوں کو جمے ہوئے دیکھ رہا ہے یہ تو بادلوں کی طرح اڑتے پھریں گے اس الله کی کاریگری سے جس نے ہر چیز کو مضبوط بنا رکھا ہے اسے خبر ہے جو تم کرتے ہو

And you see the mountains, thinking them firmly fixed, while they will pass (as the) passing (of) the clouds. (The) Work (of) Allah Who perfected all things. Indeed, He (is) All-Aware of what you do.

穆圣降临后, 那些看来像山岳那样坚固不移的旧思想和旧体制, 犹如浮云般地融化消失了。“山岳” 在此处也可同样意指建立得巨大而稳固的罗马帝国和波斯王国。它们在不可抵抗的、胜利的穆斯林军队面前纷纷瓦解。

اس میں زمین کے چلنے کا ذکر ہے برخلاف پرانے جغرافیہ نویسوں کے جو سورج کو چلتا بتاتے ہیں اور زمین کو ساکن۔

and thou shalt see the mountains, that thou supposest fixed, passing by like clouds -- God's handiwork, who has created everything very well. He is aware of the things you do.

You now see the mountains and consider them firmly fixed, but then they shall pass away even as clouds pass away. That will be the handiwork of Allah Who has created everything with perfect wisdom. He is well aware of what you do.

Commentary:

At the advent of the Holy Prophet old ideas and institutions that seemed to have been firmly rooted like mountains, melted and vanished away like the passing of clouds. Human history fails to cite an instance of such a mighty revolution brought about in so short a time in every sphere of men’s ideas and actions as was wrought by the great and noble Prophet of Islam. The word جبال (mountains) may equally refer to the great and firmly established Roman and Persian Empires which were scattered like chaff before the irresistible victorious Muslim armies.
