English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And what harm would have befallen them, if they had believed in Allah and the Last Day and spent out of what Allah has given them? And Allah knows them full well.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور اُن پر کیا مشکل تھی اگر وہ اللہ پر ایمان لے آتے اور یومِ آخر پر بھی اور خرچ کرتے اس میں سے جو اللہ نے انہیں عطا کیا۔اور اللہ انہیں اچھی طرح جانتا ہے۔

Et quel mal leur serait survenu s’ils avaient cru en Allāh et au Jour Dernier et qu’ils avaient dépensé de ces biens qu'Allāh leur a accordés ? Et Allāh les connaît très bien.

Und was würde ihnen (Böses) widerfahren sein, hätten sie an Allah und an den Jüngsten Tag geglaubt und von dem gespendet, was Allah ihnen gegeben? Und Allah kennt sie wohl.

E che danno ne sarebbe venuto loro, se essi avessero creduto in Allah e nell'Ultimo giorno e avessero dispensato da ciò che Allah ha dato loro? E Allah ben li conosce.

Pero ¿qué daño les habría sobrevenido si hubiesen creído en Al-lah y en el Último Día y gastado de lo que Al-lah les ha dado? Y Al-lah les conoce muy bien.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور ان پر کیا (قہر ٹوٹتا) تھا اگر وہ اللہ پر اور پیچھے آنے والے دن پر ایمان لے آتے اور جو (کچھ) اللہ نے انہیں دیا ہے اس میں سے (اس کی راہ میں) خرچ کرتے‘ اور اللہ ان کے متعلق خوب علم رکھتا ہے۔

آخر اِن لوگوں پر کیا آفت آ جاتی اگر یہ اللہ اور روز آخر پر ایمان رکھتے اور جو کچھ اللہ نے دیا ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرتے اگر یہ ایسا کرتے تو اللہ سے ان کی نیکی کا حال چھپا نہ رہ جاتا

یقیناً بہت نقصان اٹھایا ان لوگوں نے جنہوں نے بیوقوفی سے بغیر کسی علم کے اپنی اولاد کو قتل کر دیا اور انہوں نے اللہ پر جھوٹ گھڑتے ہوئے اس کو حرام قرار دے دیا جو اللہ نے ان کو رزق عطا کیا تھا۔ یقیناً یہ لوگ گمراہ ہوئے اور ہدایت پانے والے نہ ہوئے۔

En vérité, ils sont perdants, ceux qui, par imbécillité et ignorance, tuent leurs enfants, et rendent illicites des aliments qu'Allāh leur a accordés, inventant un mensonge contre Allāh. Ils se sont assurément égarés et ne sont pas bien guidés.

وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اپنی اولاد کو بے وقوفی سے بغیر علم کے قتل کردیا ہے اور جو کچھ اللہ نے انہیں دیا تھا سے اللہ پر افتراء کرتے ہوئے (اپنے پر) حرام کر لیا ہے۔ وہ گھاٹا پانے والے ہو گئے ہیں اور گمراہ ہو گئے ہیں اور وہ ہدایت پانے والوں میں سے نہیں (بنے)

Commentary:
This verse recapitulates what has been said above about man-made laws. For the killing of children, see 6:138 above. The words, for lack of knowledge, signify that they do so because they do not possess revealed knowledge, which is the only source of true guidance.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
یقیناً خسارے میں پڑ گئے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اپنی اولاد کو جہالت و نادانی کی بنا پر قتل کیا اور اللہ کے دیے ہوئے رزق کو اللہ پر افترا پردازی کر کے حرام ٹھیرا لیا یقیناً وہ بھٹک گئے اور ہرگز وہ راہ راست پانے والوں میں سے نہ تھے

Those will have lost who killed their children in foolishness without knowledge and prohibited what Allah had provided for them, inventing untruth about Allah. They have gone astray and were not [rightly] guided.

تحقیق خسارے میں پڑے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اپنی اولاد کو جہالت اور نادانی کی بنا پر قتل کیا اور الله پر بہتان باندھ کر اس رزق کو حرام کر لیا جو الله نے انہیں دیا تھا بے شک وہ گمراہ ہوئے اور سیدھی راہ پر نہ آئے

Those who slayed their children in folly, without knowledge,. and forbade the sustenance that Allah has provided them, falsely ascribing that to Allah, are utter losers; they have gone astray, and are certainly not among those guided to the right way.

They will surely perish who kill their offspring in ignorance foolhardily, and forbid the food that God has given them by fabricating lies against God. Misguided are they surely, and will never come to guidance.
