وَمَاۤ اَمۡوٰلُکُمۡ وَلَاۤ اَوۡلٰدُکُمۡ بِالَّتِیۡ تُقَرِّبُکُمۡ عِنۡدَنَا زُلۡفٰۤی اِلَّا مَنۡ اٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صٰلِحًا فَاُولٰٓئِکَ لَہُمۡ جَزَآءُ الضِّعۡفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوۡا وَہُمۡ فِی الۡغُرُفٰتِ اٰمِنُوۡنَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And it is not your riches nor your children that will bring you near Us in rank, but those who believe and do good works, will have a double reward for what they did. And in lofty mansions will they be secure.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور تمہارے اموال اور تمہاری اولاد ایسی چیزیں نہیں جو تمہیں ہمارے نزدیک مرتبہء قرب تک لے آئیں۔ سوائے اس کے جو ایمان لایا اور نیک اعمال بجا لایا۔ پس یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کو اُن کے اعمال کے بدلے جو وہ کرتے تھے، دُہری جزا دی جائے گی اور وہ بالاخانوں میں امن کے ساتھ رہنے والے ہیں۔

Et ce ne sont pas vos biens ni vos enfants qui vous amèneront plus près de Nous en rang, mais ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres, auront une double récompense pour ce qu’ils faisaient. Et ils seront en sécurité dans des Résidences élevées.

Und es ist nicht euer Gut, noch sind es eure Kinder, die euch Uns nahe bringen werden; die aber, die glauben und gute Werke tun, die sollen vielfachen Lohn erhalten für das, was sie getan. Und in den hohen Hallen (des Paradieses) sollen sie sicher wohnen.

اور تمہارے مال اور تمہاری اولادیں ایسی چیز نہیں کہ تم کو ہمارا مقرب بنا دیں‘ ہاں جو ایمان لاتا ہے اور اس کے مناسب حال عمل کرتا ہے (وہی ہمارا مقرب ہوتا ہے) اور ایسے ہی لوگوں کوان کے اچھے اعمال کی وجہ سے بڑھ بڑھ کر بدلے ملیں گے اور وہ بالاخانوں میں امن سے زندگی بسر کریں گے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
And it is not your wealth nor your children that will bring you near Us in rank but [a]those, who believe and do good works,[2400] will have a double reward for what they did. [b]And in lofty mansions will they be secure.

Wealth, power and position are not the means of achieving nearness to God. On the contrary, they tend to keep men away from Him. It is right belief and good actions which are man’s real wealth and which can bring him salvation and God’s pleasure.

Commentary:
The verse seeks to remove the assumption by disbelievers of fancied and false superiority based on wealth, power and position, referred to in v. 36 and means to say that these things are not the means of achieving nearness to God. On the contrary, they tend to keep man away from Him. It is right belief and good actions which are his real wealth and which can bring him salvation and God’s pleasure.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
یہ تمہاری دولت اور تمہاری اولاد نہیں ہے جو تمہیں ہم سے قریب کرتی ہو ہاں مگر جو ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرے یہی لوگ ہیں جن کے لیے اُن کے عمل کی دہری جزا ہے، اور وہ بلند و بالا عمارتوں میں اطمینان سے رہیں گے
English - Sahih
And it is not your wealth or your children that bring you nearer to Us in position, but it is [by being] one who has believed and done righteousness. For them there will be the double reward for what they did, and they will be in the upper chambers [of Paradise], safe [and secure].

اور تمہاے مال اور اولاد ایسی چیز نہیں جو تمہیں مرتبہ میں ہمارے قریب کر دے مگر جو ایمان لایا اور نیک کام کیے پس وہی لوگ ہیں جن کے لئے دگنا بدلہ ہے اس کا جو انہوں نے کیا اور وہی بالاخانوں میں امن سے ہوں گے

English - Arberry
It is not your wealth nor your children that shall bring you nigh in nearness to Us, except for him who believes, and does righteousness; those -- there awaits them the double recompense for that they did, and they shall be in the lofty chambers in security.

It is not your riches nor your children that make you near-stationed to Us, except for him who has faith and acts righteously; it is they who will receive double the recompense for their deeds. They shall live in lofty mansions in perfect peace.

اَلَا لِلّٰہِ الدِّیۡنُ الۡخَالِصُ ۚ وَالَّذِیۡنَ اتَّخَذُوۡا مِنۡ دُوۡنِہٖۤ اَوۡلِیَآءَ مَا نَعۡبُدُہُمۡ اِلَّا لِیُقَرِّبُوۡنَاۤ اِلَی اللّٰہِ زُلۡفٰۤی اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَحۡکُمُ بَیۡنَہُمۡ فِیۡ مَا ہُمۡ فِیۡہِ یَخۡتَلِفُوۡنَ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یَہۡدِیۡ مَنۡ ہُوَ کٰذِبٌ کَفَّارٌ

خبردار! خالص دین ہی اللہ کے شایانِ شان ہے اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اُس کے سوا دوست اپنا لئے ہیں (کہتے ہیں کہ) ہم اس مقصد کے سوا اُن کی عبادت نہیں کرتے کہ وہ ہمیں اللہ کے قریب کرتے ہوئے قرب کے اونچے مقام تک پہنچادیں۔ یقیناً اللہ اُن کے درمیان اُس کا فیصلہ کرے گا جس میں وہ اختلاف کیا کرتے تھے۔ اللہ ہرگز اُسے ہدایت نہیں دیتا جو جھوٹا (اور) سخت ناشکرا ہو۔
French
Ecoutez, c’est uniquement à Allāh qu’est due l’obéissance sincère. Et ceux qui en prennent d’autres en dehors de Lui pour protecteurs disent : « Nous les servons seulement pour qu’ils nous rapprochent d’Allāh. » Assurément, Allāh jugera entre eux à propos de ce sur quoi ils étaient en désaccord. Assurément, Allāh ne guide pas celui qui est un menteur ingrat.

Fürwahr, Allah (allein) gebührt lauterer Gehorsam. Und diejenigen, die sich andere zu Beschützern nehmen statt Ihn (sprechen): "Wir dienen ihnen nur, damit sie uns Allah nahebringen." En verdad, Al‑lah juzgará entre ellos en cuanto a lo que disputan. Ciertamente Al-lah no guía al mentiroso desagradecido.

سنو‘ اطاعت خالص اللہ ہی کا حق ہے اور جو لوگ اس کے سوا اور ہستیوں کو دوست بناتے ہیں (یہ کہتے ہوئے) کہ ہم ان کی عبادت صرف اس لئے کرتے ہیں کہ وہ ہمیں اللہ کے قریب[1] کر دیں۔ اللہ ان کے درمیان ان باتوں کے متعلق جن میں وہ اختلاف رکھتے ہیں فیصلہ کرے گا۔ اللہ یقیناً جھوٹے اور ناشکر گذار کو کامیابی کا راستہ نہیں دکھاتا۔
آج کل مسلمانوں میں سے ملحد اسی بہانہ سے شرک کرتے ہیں مگر پرانے مشرکوں میں سے بھی بعض لوگ شرک کی یہی تاویل کرتے تھے۔

Remember, it is to Allah alone that sincere obedience is due. And those who take as protectors others beside Him, say, ‘We serve them only that they may bring us near to Allah in station.’[2562] Surely, [d]Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Surely, Allah guides not him who is an ungrateful liar.

Man is prone to worship false gods, the idols of his own imagination, such as saints and holy men; wealth, power and passion; inherited beliefs and customs, etc. always pretending to believe that these can help him to understand and realize the Divine Being.

Unquestionably, for Allah is the pure religion. And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position." Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever.

Lo, religion is exclusively devoted to Allah. Your religion is entirely consecrated to Him.
