[1] سَوِىَ , aor. يَسْوَى: see 3, in two places. ＝ 1-A2- [Accord. to Golius, سَوَى, inf. n. سِوًى, signifies He intended, or proposed to himself: this he says as on the authority of the KL, in which only the inf. n. is mentioned with the explanation قصد وآهنگ كردن: and to this, Freytag adds the authority of Meyd; and also that the verb governs the thing which is its objective complement in the accus. case. In the S and other lexicons of good repute, I find the meaning of قَصَدَ assigned to اِسْتَوَى followed by إِلَى; but in none to سَوَى.]

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

His companion said to him, while he was arguing with him, “Dost thou disbelieve in Him Who created thee from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then fashioned thee into a perfect man?

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اُس سے اس کے ساتھی نے، جبکہ وہ اس سے گفتگو کر رہا تھا، کہا کیا تو اُس ذات کا انکار کرتا ہے جس نے تجھے مٹی سے پیدا کیا پھر نطفے سے بنایا پھر تجھے ایک چلنے پھرنے والے انسان کی صورت میں ٹھیک ٹھاک کر دیا؟

Son compagnon lui dit, tout en conversant avec lui : « Refuses-tu de croire en Celui Qui t’a créé de poussière, puis d’une goutte de sperme, puis t’a façonné en un homme parfait ?

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اس کے ساتھی نے اس سے سوال و جواب کرتے ہوئے کہا (کہ) کیا تو نے اس (ہستی) کا انکار کر دیا ہے جس نے تجھے (اولاً)مٹی سے (اور) پھر نطفہ سے پیدا کیا اور پھر اس نے تجھے پورا آدمی بنایا۔

Commentary:

This verse constitutes the reply of the poor and depressed Muslim to his boastful Christian companion. He admonishes the latter not to deny God in his conceit. He seeks to rouse him from his state of self-complacency by drawing his attention to his very insignificant beginning and by implication to the transitoriness of the things of this world.

اُس کے ہمسائے نے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے اس سے کہا "کیا تو کفر کرتا ہے اُس ذات سے جس نے تجھے مٹی سے اور پھر نطفے سے پیدا کیا اور تجھے ایک پورا آدمی بنا کھڑا کیا؟

His companion said to him while he was conversing with him, "Have you disbelieved in He who created you from dust and then from a sperm-drop and then proportioned you [as] a man?
