وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ اعۡتَرَفُوۡا بِذُنُوۡبِہِمۡ خَلَطُوۡا عَمَلًا صٰلِحًا وَّاٰخَرَ سَیِّئًا عَسَی اللّٰہُ اَنۡ یَّتُوۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ ۚ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِیۡمٌ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And there are others who have acknowledged their faults. They mixed a good work with another that was evil. It may be that Allah will turn to them with compassion. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور کچھ دوسرے ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے گناہوں کا اعتراف کیا۔ انہوں نے اچھے اعمال اور دوسرے بداعمال ملا جلا دیئے۔ بعید نہیں کہ اللہ ان پر توبہ قبول کرتے ہوئے جھکے۔ یقیناً اللہ بہت بخشنے والا (اور) بار بار رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

French

Et il en est d’autres qui ont avoué leurs offenses. Ils ont mêlé une bonne action avec une autre qui était mauvaise. Il se peut qu’Allāh se tourne vers eux avec compassion. Assurément, Allāh est Très-Pardonnant, Miséricordieux.

Und es sind andere, die ihre Schuld bekannten. Sie vermischten eine gute Tat mit einer anderen, schlechten. Bald wird Allah Sich mit Erbarmen zu ihnen wenden; Allah ist Allverzeihend, Barmherzig.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور کچھ اور لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے گناہوں کا اقرار کیا انہوں نے نیک عملوں کو کچھ اور عملوں سے جو برے تھے ملا دیا تھا۔ قریب ہے کہ اللہ ان پر فضل کر دے اللہ بہت بخشنے والا (اور) باربار رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And there are others who have confessed their faults. They mixed good works with others that are evil.[1215] It may be that Allah will turn to them with compassion. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

The verse may refer to those Muslims who did possess an excuse, but it was not strong enough to justify their staying behind. Their number, according to different reports, varied from seven to ten. As a self-inflicted punishment for their offence, these men bound themselves to the pillars of the Mosque at Medina, and when the Holy Prophet entered it to offer Prayers, they begged him to pardon them to which he replied that he could not do so unless so commanded by God. When this verse was revealed, they were ordered to be released.

Commentary:

The verse refers to those Muslims who did possess an excuse, but it was not strong enough to justify their staying behind (see note on 9:95 above). Their number, according to different reports, varied from seven to ten. کچھ اور لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے قصوروں کا اعتراف کر لیا ہے ان کا عمل مخلوط ہے، کچھ نیک ہے اور کچھ بد، بعید نہیں کہ اللہ ان پر پھر مہربان ہو جائے کیونکہ وہ درگزر کرنے والا اور رحم فرمانے والا ہے

English - Sahih

And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

اور کچھ اور بھی ہیں کہ انھوں نے اپنے گناہوں کا اقرار کیا ہے انہوں نے اپنے نیک اور بد کاموں کو ملا دیاہے قریب ہے کہ الله انہیں معاف کر دے بے شک الله بخشنے والا مہربان ہے
