English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And they say, ‘Why are not Signs sent down to him from his Lord?’ Say, ‘The Signs are with Allah, and certainly I am a clear Warner.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور وہ کہتے ہیں کیوں نہ اُس پر اُس کے ربّ کی طرف سے کوئی نشانات اُتارے گئے۔ تُو کہہ دے کہ نشانات تو محض اللہ ہی کے پاس ہیں اور میں تو محض ایک کھلا کھلا ڈرانے والا ہوں۔

French

Et ils disent : « Pourquoi des Signes ne lui sont-ils pas envoyés par son Seigneur ? » Dis : « Les Signes ne sont qu’avec Allāh, et je ne suis qu’un Avertisseur qui avertit clairement. »

German

Dennoch sprechen sie: "Warum wurden nicht Zeichen zu ihm herabgesandt von seinem Herrn?" Sprich: "Die Zeichen sind allein bei Allah, und ich bin nur ein aufklärender Warner."

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور وہ کہتے ہیں کہ کیوں اس کے رب کی طرف سے اس پر کوئی نشانات نہیں اترے۔ کہو کہ نشانات تو خدا کے پاس ہیں (جب وہ فائدہ دیکھتا ہے اتارتا ہے) اور میں تو ایک کھلا کھلا ہوشیار کرنے والا ہوں۔

Commentary:

In the Quran by the sign demanded by disbelievers is meant generally the sign of punishment. This meaning is clear from vv. 54, 55& 56 below. To this demand of disbelievers the Holy Prophet is commanded to say that it is not for him to fix the time when punishment should come, because he is only a Warner whose duty is confined to warning them that if they persisted in their rejection of the Divine Message and did not mend their ways they will perish.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ "کیوں نہ اتاری گئی اس شخص پر نشانیاں اِس کے رب کی طرف سے؟" کہو، "نشانیاں تو اللہ کے پاس ہیں اور میں صرف خبردار کرنے والا ہوں کھول کھول کر"
