Hast thou not seen those who are hypocrites? They say to their brethren who disbelieve among the People of the Book, ‘If you are turned out, we will surely go out with you, and we will never obey anyone against you: and if you are fought against, we will certainly help you.’ But Allah bears witness that surely they are liars.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

کیا تُو نے ان کی طرف نظر نہیں دوڑائی جنہوں نے نفاق کیا۔ وہ اہل کتاب میں سے اپنے ان بھائیوں سے جنہوں نے کفر کیا کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تم نکال دیئے گئے تو تمہارے ساتھ ہم بھی ضرور نکلیں گے اور تمہارے بارے میں کبھی کسی کی اطاعت نہیں کریں گے اور اگر تمہارے خلاف لڑائی کی گئی تو ہم ضرور تمہاری مدد کریں گے۔ اور اللہ گواہی دیتا ہے کہ یقینا وہ جھوٹے ہیں۔

French

N’as-tu pas vu ceux qui sont hypocrites ? Ils disent à leurs frères qui refusent de croire parmi les Gens du Livre : « Si vous êtes chassés, nous sortirons assurément avec vous, et nous n’obéirons jamais à qui que ce soit contre vous ; et si on se bat contre vous, nous vous aiderons assurément. » Mais Allāh témoigne que ce sont certainement des menteurs.

Hast du nicht die beobachtet, die Heuchler sind? Sie sprechen zu ihren Brüdern, die ungläubig sind unter dem Volk der Schrift: "Wenn ihr vertrieben werdet, so werden wir sicherlich mit euch ziehen, und wir werden nie jemandem gegen euch gehorchen; und wenn ihr angegriffen werdet, so werden wir euch sicherlich helfen." Doch Allah ist Zeuge, dass sie gewisslich Lügner sind.

你没有看见那些伪信的人们? 他们对自己有经的弟兄中不信者说: “如果你们被逐出 (麦地那),我们必将与你们一同出境,关于你们我们永不服从任何人,如果你们遭受攻击,我们必将援助你们。”[1414]但安拉作证,他们一定是说谎的。

Italian

Non hai visto gli ipocriti? Dicono ai loro fratelli, che non credono, tra il Popolo del libro: «Se sarete cacciati, noi certamente usciremo con voi, e mai obbediremo ad alcuno, contro di voi, e se qualcuno vi combatte, state certi che vi aiuteremo.» Ma Allah testimonia che loro sono veramente bugiardi.

Spanish

¿No has visto a los hipócritas? Dicen a sus hermanos incrédulos de entre el Pueblo del Libro: “Si se os expulsa, ciertamente marcharemos con vosotros y nunca obedeceremos a nadie en contra vuestra; y si se os ataca, en verdad os ayudaremos”. Pero Al-lah es testigo de que ciertamente son embusteros.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

کیا تو نے ان منافقوں کو نہیں دیکھا‘ جو اہل کتاب میں سے اپنے کافر بھائیوں کو کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تم کو (مدینہ سے) نکالا گیا۔ تو ہم تمہارے ساتھ ہی نکل جائیں گے۔ اور تمہارے خلاف کبھی کسی کی بات نہیں مانیں گے‘ اور اگر تم سے جنگ کی گئی تو ہم تمہاری مدد کریں گے اور اللہ گواہی دیتا ہے کہ وہ جھوٹے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Seest thou not the Hypocrites? They say to their brethren who disbelieve from among the People of the Book, ‘If you are turned out of Medina, we will, surely, go out with you and we will never obey any one against you, and if you are fought against, we will, certainly, help you.[3025] But Allah bears witness that, surely, they are liars.

Hast thou not seen those who are hypocrites? They say to their brethren who disbelieve among the People of the Book, ‘If you are turned out, we will surely go out with you, and we will never obey anyone against you: and if you are fought against, we will certainly help you.’ But Allah bears witness that surely they are liars.[4198]

تم نے دیکھا نہیں اُن لوگوں کو جنہوں نے منافقت کی روش اختیار کی ہے؟ یہ اپنے کافر اہل کتاب بھائیوں سے کہتے ہیں "اگر تمہیں نکالا گیا تو ہم تمہارے ساتھ نکلیں گے، اور تمہارے معاملہ میں ہم کسی کی بات ہرگز نہ مانیں گے، اور اگر تم سے جنگ کی گئی تو ہم تمہاری مدد کریں گے" مگر اللہ گواہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ قطعی جھوٹے ہیں

Have you not considered those who practice hypocrisy, saying to their brothers who have disbelieved among the People of the Scripture, "If you are expelled, we will surely leave with you, and we will not obey, in regard to you, anyone - ever; and if you are fought, we will surely aid you." But Allah testifies that they are liars.

کیا آپ نے منافقوں کو نہیں دیکھا جواپنے اہل کتاب کے کافر بھائیوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تم نکالے گئے تو ضرور ہم بھی تمہارے ساتھ نکلیں گے اور تمہارے معاملہ میں کبھی کسی کی بات نہ مانیں گے اور اگر تم سے لڑائی ہو گی تو ہم تمہاری مدد کریں گے اور الله گواہی دیتا ہے کہ وہ سراسر جھوٹے ہیں

伪信者怂恿麦地那的犹太人蔑视穆圣, 撕毁跟他结的盟誓, 许下必要时刻提供帮助的虚假诺言。但是当犹太人信以为真, 蔑视穆圣并大举反对他的时候, 伪信者使他们陷入了困境。

Commentary:

A hypocrite is a liar and a coward. He is completely unreliable and devoid of all honour. The hypocrites of Medina had urged the Jews of Medina to defy the Holy Prophet and break their plighted word with him, holding out to them false promises of help and succour in time of need. But when relying upon their promises the Jews defied the Prophet and he, in order to punish them, marched against them, the Hypocrites left them in the lurch.

The Hypocrites had urged the Jews of Medina to defy the Holy Prophet and break their plighted word with him, holding out to them false promises of help and succour in time of need. But when relying upon their promises the Jews defied the Holy Prophet and marched against him, they left them in the lurch.
