S’Il le veut, Il peut vous faire disparaître, ô hommes, et faire venir d’autres à votre place ; et Allāh a plein pouvoir de faire cela.

اے لوگو! اگر وہ چاہے تو تمہیں مار دے اور اور (لوگوں) کو لے آئے۔ اور اللہ اس (امر) پر پورا (پورا) قادر ہے۔

اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے ہماری آیات کو جھٹلایا وہ اندھیروں میں (بھٹکتے ہوئے) بہرے اور گونگے ہیں۔ جسے اللہ چاہتا ہے گمراہ ٹھہرا دیتا ہے اور جسے چاہے اسے صراطِ مستقیم پر (گامزن) کر دیتا ہے۔

Ceux qui traitent Nos Signes de mensonges sont sourds et muets, et sont dans une obscurité complète. Celui à propos de qui Allāh décide qu’il mérite de s’égarer, Il le laisse s’égarer. Et celui à propos de qui Il décide, Il l’amène sur le droit chemin.

Die aber Unsere Zeichen leugneten, sind taub und stumm in Finsternissen. Wen Allah will, lässt er in die Irre gehen und wen Er will, führt Er auf den geraden Weg.

And thy Lord is Self-Sufficient, [a]full of mercy. If He please, [b]He can do away with you and cause to succeed you what He pleases, even as He raised you from the offspring of other people.[873]

Commentary:
The Divine attribute of الغنی (Self-Sufficient) means, "one able to do without others" (see 2:264). As God is Self-Sufficient, He can punish rejecters as and when He desires; but He is also full of mercy; therefore, He delays the hour of punishment.
The words مایشاء (what He pleases) have been used in preference to من یشاء (whom He pleases) in order to combine the idea of "any other people" with that of "in any other state or condition."

تمہارا رب بے نیاز ہے اور مہربانی اس کا شیوہ ہے اگر و ہ چاہے تو تم لوگوں کو لے جائے اور تمہاری جگہ دوسرے جن لوگوں کو چاہے لے آئے جس طرح اُس نے تمہیں کچھ اور لوگوں کی نسل سے اٹھایا ہے

Commentary:

Commentary:
The verse embodies a severe warning for disbelievers to the effect that by opposing the Prophets they are seeking to frustrate God’s great purpose, which the world has been created to serve. Their very existence seems to belie and contradict that supreme object. Hence they cannot be allowed to succeed in their designs. They should not, therefore, delude themselves with the false notion that they are irreplaceable. Not only will they meet with destruction, but God has actually prepared "a new creation" in the form of the followers of His Prophet who will take their place and prove worthy successors of an unworthy generation.

کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں ہو کہ اللہ نے آسمان و زمین کی تخلیق کو حق پر قائم کیا ہے؟ وہ چاہے تو تم لوگوں کو لے جائے اور ایک نئی خلقت تمہاری جگہ لے آئے

Commentary:
God alone knows the innermost secrets of man’s heart and therefore He has reserved for Himself the right to punish or reward man. This work has not been entrusted even to the Holy Prophet. God Himself will deal with men according to the state of their minds.

Your Lord knows you best. He will have mercy on you if He wills and chastise you if He wills. We have not sent you, (O Muhammad), as an overseer over them.

Commentary:
God alone knows the innermost secrets of man’s heart and therefore He has reserved for Himself the right to punish or reward man. This work has not been entrusted even to the Holy Prophet. God Himself will deal with men according to the state of their minds.

رواکد (motionless) is the plural of راکدة which is fem. active participle from رکد which means, it was or became still, motionless, fixed or stationary (Lane).
Commentary:
In this and several other verses the Quran points to the great part that ships were to play in international intercourse. This truth, revealed to a son of the desert, as far back as fourteen hundred years ago, speaks volumes for the Divine origin of the Quran.

اللہ جب چاہے ہوا کو ساکن کر دے اور یہ سمندر کی پیٹھ پر کھڑے کے کھڑے رہ جائیں اِس میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں ہر اُس شخص کے لیے جو کمال درجہ صبر و شکر کرنے والا ہو
