据有些权威学者指出, 这几节经文描写穆圣的反对者以不同形式从不同方面向他发来的危险的攻击。但这一节和上一节经文也可看作是对伊斯兰教未来的胜利作了预言性的描述。当时阿拉伯全国各地的异教部落匆匆派代表赶来进谒穆圣, 恳求收容为伊斯兰教信者。这几节经文也可以指这样的意义: 古莱西人领袖们向穆圣提出了十分诱人的主张, 只要他放弃布道,放弃反对他们的偶像。
