وَالَّذِیۡ قَالَ لِوٰلِدَیۡہِ اُفٍّ لَّکُمَاۤ اَتَعِدَانِنِیۡۤ اَنۡ اُخۡرَجَ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ الۡقُرُوۡنُ مِنۡ قَبۡلِیۡ وَہُمَا یَسۡتَغِیۡثَانِ اللّٰہَ وَیۡلَکَ اٰمِنۡ اِنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰہِ حَقٌّ فَیَقُوۡلُ مَا ہٰذَاۤ اِلَّاۤ اَسٰطِیۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِیۡنَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
But the one who says to his parents, ‘Fie on you both! do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth again, when generations have already passed away before me?’ And they both cry unto Allah for help and say to him: ‘Woe unto thee! believe; for the promise of Allah is true.’ But he says, ‘This is nothing but the fables of the ancients.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور وہ جس نے اپنے والدین سے کہا افسوس ہے تم دونوں پر۔ کیا تم مجھے اس بات سے ڈراتے ہو کہ میں نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے کتنی ہی قومیں گزر چکی ہیں۔ اور اُن دونوں نے اللہ سے فریاد کرتے ہوئے کہا:ہلاکت ہو تجھ پر۔ ایمان لے آ ۔ یقیناً اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے۔ تب وہ کہنے لگا یہ محض پہلے لوگوں کی کہانیاں ہیں۔
French
Mais celui qui dit à ses parents : « Fi donc de vous deux ! Me menacez-vous en disant que je serai ramené à la vie, alors que des générations ont déjà disparu avant moi ? » Et tous deux appellent Allāh à leur secours et disent à leur fils : « Malheur à toi ! Crois, car la promesse d’Allāh est vraie. » Mais il dit : « Ce ne sont que des fables des anciens ! »

Der aber zu seinen Eltern spricht: "Pfui über euch! Verkündet ihr mir, dass ich auferstehen soll, obwohl Geschlechter schon vor mir dahingegangen sind?" Und sie rufen beide zu Allah um Hilfe (und sprechen): "Wehe dir, glaube! denn die Verheißung Allahs ist wahr." Er aber antwortet: "Das sind nichts als Fabeln der Alten."

Ma chi dice ai suoi genitori: «Vergogna a voi tutti e due. Mi minacciate dicendo che sarò risuscitato di nuovo, quando tante generazioni sono già passate prima di me?» Ed ambedue implorano aiuto da Allah e gli dicono: «Guai a te! Credi, perché la promessa di Allah è verace», e quello replica: «Non si tratta che di favole degli antichi»;

Pero hay quien dice a sus padres: “¡Vergüenza para vosotros! ¿Me amenazáis con que naceré de nuevo, cuando ya han desaparecido eneraciones antes de mí?”. Y ambos invocan a Al-lah pidiendo ayuda y le dicen: “¡Ay de ti! ¡Cree!, pues la promesa de Al-lah es verdadera”. Pero responde: “Esto no es más que fábulas de los antiguos”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور (ایک) ایسا شخص (بھی ہوتا ہے) جو اپنے والدین سے کہتا ہے تم پر افسوس! کیا تم مجھے یہ خبر پختہ طور پر دیتے ہو کہ مجھے زندہ کرکے زمین سے نکالا جائے گا‘ اور صدی پر صدی پہلے گذر چکی ہے (لیکن ان میں سے کوئی شخص زندہ ہو کر نہیں آیا) اور (اس کے) دونوں (ماں باپ) اللہ سے فریاد کرتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں۔ اے بچے! تجھ پر افسوس! خدا پر ایمان لا‘ اللہ کا وعدہ ضرور پورا ہو کر رہے گا اس پر وہ انہیں جواب دیتا ہے یہ تو صرف پہلوں کی کہانیاں ہیں۔

But the one who says to his parents, ‘Fie on you both; do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth again, when generations have already passed away before me?’ And they both cry unto Allah for help and say to him, ‘Woe unto thee! believe, for the promise of Allah is true.’ But he says, ‘This is nothing but the fables of the ancients.’

But the one who says to his parents, ‘Fie on you both! do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth again, when generations have already passed away before me?’ And they both cry unto Allah for help and say to him: ‘Woe unto thee! believe; for the promise of Allah is true.’ But he says, ‘This is nothing but the fables of the ancients.’[3772]
Commentary:
In verse 16, reference was made to a class of men who spend their God-given gifts in the service of noble causes in order to win the pleasure of God, and who are anxious that they might be succeeded by a generation who should carry on their noble work. The verse under comment speaks of those unfortunate people who are born of good and righteous parents and are brought up in very healthy environments and yet lead a life of disbelief and sin.

اور جس شخص نے اپنے والدین سے کہا "اُف، تنگ کر دیا تم نے، کیا تم مجھے یہ خوف دلاتے ہو کہ میں مرنے کے بعد پھر قبر سے نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی نسلیں گزر چکی ہیں (اُن میں سے تو کوئی اٹھ کر نہ آیا)" ماں اور باپ اللہ کی دوہائی دے کر کہتے ہیں "ارے بدنصیب، مان جا، اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے" مگر وہ کہتا ہے "یہ سب اگلے وقتوں کی فرسودہ کہانیاں ہیں"
English - Sahih
But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allah for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former people" -

Do you promise me that I shall be brought forth, when already generations have passed away before me?' while they call upon God for succour -- 'Woe upon thee! Believe; surely God's promise is true'; then he says, 'This is naught but the fairy-tales of the ancients' --

But he who says to his parents: “Fie on you! Do you threaten me that I shall be resurrected, although myriad generations have passed away before me (and not one of them was resurrected)?” The parents beseech Allah (and say to their child): “Woe to you, have faith. Surely Allah's promise is true.” But he says: “All this is nothing but fables of olden times.”
