English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘And throw down thy rod.’ And when he saw it move as though it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not look back. ‘O Moses, fear not. Verily I am with thee; the Messengers need have no fear in My presence.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اپنا عصا پھینک۔ پس جب اس نے اُسے دیکھا کہ ایسے حرکت کر رہا ہے جیسے وہ ایک سانپ ہو تو وہ پیٹھ پھیرتے ہوئے مُڑ گیا اور پلٹ کر بھی نہ دیکھا۔ اے موسیٰ! ڈر نہیں۔ یقیناً میں وہ ہوں کہ میرے قُرب میں پیغمبر ڈرا نہیں کرتے۔

« Et jette ton bâton à terre. » Mais lorsqu’il le vit se remuer comme si c’était un serpent, il tourna le dos et s’enfuit sans regarder en arrière : « Ô Moïse, ne crains pas. En vérité, Je suis Celui en la présence Duquel, les Messagers ne doivent pas avoir peur.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو اپنی لاٹھی پھینک۔ اور جب اس نے اس (لاٹھی) کو دیکھا کہ وہ ہل رہی ہے گویا کہ وہ ایک چھوٹا سانپ [1]ہے تو وہ پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگا اور پیچھے مڑ کر نہ دیکھا (تب ہم نے کہا) اے موسیٰ! ڈر نہیں‘ میں وہ ہوں کہ رسول میرے حضور میں ڈرا نہیں کرتے۔

یہاں جَآنٌّ کا لفظ استعمال کیا گیا ہے‘ جو چھوٹے سانپ کو کہتے ہیں۔ دوسری جگہ قرآن مجید میں ثُعْبَانٌ کا لفظ استعمال کیا گیا ہے۔ جس کے معنے بڑے سانپ کے ہوتے ہیں اور ایک تیسری جگہ حَیَّۃٌ کا لفظ استعمال کیا گیا ہے جس کے معنے محض سانپ کے ہوتے ہیں۔ بعض بیوقوفوں نے اعتراض کیا ہے کہ یہ اختلاف ہے حالانکہ جہاں چھوٹے سانپ کا لفظ استعمال کیا ہے وہاں کہا ہے کہ اس طرح ہلتا تھا جیسے چھوٹا سانپ۔ گویا چھوٹے سانپ کا لفظ اس کی تیز حرکت کی وجہ سے بولا گیا اور بڑے سانپ کا لفظ اس کے بڑے نظر آنے والے جسم کی وجہ سے بولا گیا اور سانپ کا لفظ محض اس کی جنس پر دلالت کرنے کے لئے بولا

[b]‘Throw down thy rod.’ And when he saw it move as though it were a serpent,[2148A] he turned back retreating and did not look back, whereupon We said, ‘O Moses, fear, not. Verily, I am the One in Whose presence the Messengers need have no fear;

اور پھینک تو ذرا اپنی لاٹھی" جونہی کہ موسیٰؑ نے دیکھا لاٹھی سانپ کی طرح بل کھا رہی ہے تو پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگا اور پیچھے مڑ کر بھی نہ دیکھا "اے موسیٰؑ، ڈرو نہیں میرے حضور رسول ڈرا نہیں کرتے

And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.

اور اپنی لاٹھی ڈال دے پھر جب اسے دیکھا کہ وہ سانپ کی طرح چل رہی ہے تو پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگا اورپیچھے مڑ کر نہ دیکھا اے موسیٰ ڈرو مت کیونکہ میرے حضور میں رسول ڈرا نہیں کرتے

In the original translation of the Short Commentary a part of the verse i.e. وَاَنْ is left out. In the Five Volume Commentary the verse is translated fully. After the insertions of the translation of the relevant phrase in the present translation, the first clause of the verse will read as: “And it also said, ‘Throw down thy rod’.” (Publisher)

اور (حکم دیا گیا کہ) پھینک دے اپنی لاٹھی جونہی کہ موسیٰؑ نے دیکھا کہ وہ لاٹھی سانپ کی طرح بل کھا رہی ہے تو وہ پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگا اور اس نے مڑ کر بھی نہ دیکھا (ارشاد ہوا) "موسیٰؑ، پلٹ آ اور خوف نہ کر، تو بالکل محفوظ ہے
