وَاِذَا تُتۡلٰی عَلَیۡہِ اٰیٰتُنَا وَلّٰی مُسۡتَکۡبِرًا کَاَنۡ لَّمۡ یَسۡمَعۡہَا کَاَنَّ فِیۡۤ اُذُنَیۡہِ وَقۡرًا ۖ فَبَشِّرۡہُ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِیۡمٍ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when Our Signs are recited to him, he turns proudly away, as though he heard them not, as if there were a heaviness in both his ears. So announce to him a painful punishment.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور جب اس پر ہماری آیات کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو وہ استکبار کرتے ہوئے پیٹھ پھیر لیتا ہے گویا اُس نے اُنہیں سنا ہی نہ ہو۔ جیسے اُس کے دونوں کانوں میں ایک (بہرا کر دینے والا) بوجھ ہو۔ پس اسے دردناک عذاب کی خوشخبری دے دے۔

Et lorsque Nos Signes lui sont récités, il s’en détourne avec dédain, comme s’il ne les avait pas entendus, comme s’il avait une lourdeur dans ses deux oreilles. Alors, annonce-lui un châtiment douloureux.

Und wenn ihm Unsere Zeichen vorgetragen werden, so kehrt er sich verächtlich ab, als hätte er sie nicht gehört, als wäre eine Schwerhörigkeit in seinen Ohren. So künde ihm eine schmerzliche Strafe an.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور جب ایسے شخص کے سامنے[1] ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو وہ تکبر کرتے ہوئے پیٹھ پھیر لیتا ہے گویا کہ اس نے ان کو سنا ہی نہیں (وہ اس حد تک بے پروائی کرتا ہے) گویا اس کے کانوں میں بہرہ پن ہے پس تو اس کو ایک دردناک عذاب کی اہم خبر سنا۔
جس کا پہلی آیت میں ذکر ہوا ہے۔

Commentary:
The verse under comment explains another verse of the Quran (2:8) wherein it is stated that God sets a seal on the hearts of disbelievers and on their ears and eyes. The present verse makes it clear that man first turns away disdainfully from truth, and behaves arrogantly, and turns a deaf ear to the Divine Message and heavenly admonition, and then, as a result of his arrogant behaviour and attitude, his heart becomes, as it were, sealed and he is rendered spiritually blind and deaf.

اسے جب ہماری آیات سنائی جاتی ہیں تو وہ بڑے گھمنڈ کے ساتھ اس طرح رخ پھیر لیتا ہے گویا کہ اس نے انہیں سنا ہی نہیں، گویا کہ اس کے کان بہرے ہیں اچھا، مژدہ سُنا دو اسے ایک درد ناک عذاب کا
