16:114

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And indeed there has come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they treated him as a liar, so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور یقیناً ان کے پاس انہی میں سے ایک رسول آیا تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلا دیا۔ سو عذاب نے ان کو آپکڑا جبکہ وہ ظلم کرنے والے تھے۔

French

Et en vérité, un Messager leur est venu qui était des leurs, mais ils le traitèrent de menteur. Aussi le châtiment les surprit pendant qu’ils commettaient des iniquités.

German

Und fürwahr, gekommen ist zu ihnen ein Gesandter aus ihrer Mitte, sie aber leugneten ihn, da ereilte sie die Strafe, weil sie Frevler waren.

从他们中使者降临了他们, 但他们把他当作说谎者。于是, 正当他们多行不义时, 突然遇到惩罚的袭击。

Italian

E in verità, da loro è arrivato un messaggero, nato fra loro stessi, che tuttavia essi trattarono come un mentitore, così la punizione li colse poichè erano ingiusti.

Pues en verdad les ha llegado un Mensajero de entre ellos mismos, pero le trataron como mentiroso, por lo que el castigo cayó sobre ellos mientras eran malvados.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور یقیناً ان کے پاس انہی میں سے (ہمارا) ایک رسول آچکا ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا۔ جس پر اس حالت میں کہ وہ ظلم کر رہے تھے (ہمارے) عذاب نے انہیں آپکڑا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And indeed there has come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they treated him as a liar, so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.

English - Five Volume Translation

And indeed there has come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they treated him as a liar, so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.[1914]

Commentary:

The verse further makes it clear that the parable of the previous verse applied to the Meccans who made themselves deserving of Divine punishment because they rejected the Prophet who was from among them and whom they knew to be truthful, sincere and honest.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اُن کے پاس ان کی اپنی قوم میں سے ایک رسول آیا مگر اُنہوں نے اس کو جھٹلا دیا آخر کار عذاب نے اُن کو آ لیا جبکہ وہ ظالم ہو چکے تھے

اور البتہ ان کے پاس انہیں میں سے رسول بھی آیا مگر انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا پھر انہیں عذاب نے آ پکڑا ایسے حال میں کہ وہ ظالم تھے

There came indeed to them a Messenger from amongst them, but they cried him lies; so they were seized by the chastisement while they were evildoers.
