وَاِذَا بُشِّرَ اَحَدُہُمۡ بِالۡاُنۡثٰی ظَلَّ وَجۡہُہٗ مُسۡوَدًّا وَّہُوَ کَظِیۡمٌ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And when to one of them is conveyed the tidings of the birth of a female, his face darkens, while he suppresses his inward grief.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب ان میں سے کسی کو لڑکی کی بشارت دی جائے تو اس کا چہرہ غم سے سیاہ پڑ جاتا ہے اور وہ (اسے) ضبط کرنے کی کوشش کررہا ہوتا ہے۔

French

Et lorsqu’on apporte à l’un d’entre eux la nouvelle de la naissance d’une fille, son visage s’assombrit, en raison de ce chagrin intérieur qu’il refoule.

German

Und wenn einem von ihnen die Nachricht von (der Geburt) einer Tochter gebracht wird, so verfinstert sich sein Gesicht, indes er den inneren Schmerz unterdrückt.

[e]当他们任何人获得生产女儿的消息时, 他便愁容满面, 愤懑盈胸。

43:18.

Italian

E quando ad uno di loro viene portata la notizia della nascita di una bambina, la faccia di costui si oscura, mentre reprime il suo interno dolore.

Spanish

Mas cuando se anuncia a uno de ellos la buena nueva del nacimiento de una hembra, su semblante se ensombrece, y sofoca la angustia en su interior.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور (اس کے مقابل پر ان کا یہ حال ہے کہ) جب ان میں سے کسی کو لڑکی (کی پیدائش) کی خبر مل جائے تو اس کا منہ سیاہ ہو جاتا ہے اور وہ نہایت رنجیدہ ہوتا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And [c]when to one of them is conveyed the tidings of the birth of a female, his face darkenss[1552A] with inward suppressed grief;

43:18.

Iswadda Wajhu-hu means, his face became black, i.e. his face became expressive of grief or overcast with gloom; he became grieved, sorrowful or confounded; he became disgraced (Lane).

And [a]when to one of them is conveyed the tidings of the birth of a female, his face darkens, while he suppresses his inward grief.

43:18.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جب اِن میں سے کسی کو بیٹی کے پیدا ہونے کی خوش خبری دی جاتی ہے تو اُس کے چہرے پر کلونس چھا جاتی ہے اور وہ بس خون کا سا گھونٹ پی کر رہ جاتا ہے

English - Sahih

And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.

اور جب ان میں سے کسی کی بیٹی کی خوشخبری دی جائے اس کا منہ سیاہ ہو جاتا ہے اور وہ غمگین ہوتا ہے
