28:62

أَفَمَن وَعَدْنَٰهُ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ لَٰقِيهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُ مَتَٰعَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Is he, then to whom We have promised a goodly promise the fulfilment of which he will meet, like the one whom We have provided with the good things of this life, and then on the Day of Resurrection he will be of those who will be brought arraigned before God?

پس کیا وہ جس سے ہم نے اچھا وعدہ کیا اور وہ اسے حاصل کرنے والا ہے اُس جیسا ہوسکتا ہے جسے ہم نے دنیا کی زندگی کا عارضی فائدہ پہنچایا ہو پھر وہ قیامت کے دن (جوا ب دہی کے لئے) حاضر کئے جانے والوں میں سے ہو۔

French

Ainsi, celui à qui Nous avons fait une bonne promesse, dont il verral’accomplissement, est-il pareil à celui à qui Nous avons accordé uniquement des avantages temporaires de cette vie, et qui ensuite, au Jour de la Résurrection, sera de ceux qui seront amenés devant Allāh pour rendre compte de leurs actions ?

German

Ist denn der, dem Wir eine schöne Verheißung gaben, die er erfüllt sehen wird, gleich jenem, den Wir mit den guten Dingen dieses Lebens versorgt haben? Doch dann, am Tage der Auferstehung, wird er unter den Vorgeladenen sein.

一个获得了我的好诺言并将看到那诺言 (实现) 的人, [c]能与那个我只供给了他今生的享用而在复生日将被传唤 (于安拉之前交待他的行为) 的人一样吗?

Italian

Dunque, colui al quale Noi abbiamo fatto una buona promessa, il cui compimento egli esperimenterà, è forse come colui al quale Noi abbiamo dato soltanto le cose buone di questa vita, e quindi nel Giorno della risurrezione sarà tra coloro che saranno condotti davanti a Dio?

Spanish

¿Acaso será aquel a quien hemos hecho una promesa divina cuyo cumplimiento alcanzará, igual a aquel al que hemos proporcionado las cosas buenas de esta vida y más tarde, en el Día de la Resurrección, será de los que sean traídos emplazados ante Dios?

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

کیا وہ شخص جس سے ہم نے اچھا (یعنی اُخروی زندگی کی کامیابی کا) وعدہ کیا ہو اور وہ اسے (یقیناً) پا لینے والا ہو اس شخص کی طرح ہو سکتا ہے جس کو ہم نے صرف دنیوی زندگی کا کچھ سامان دیا ہو۔ پھر وہ قیامت کے دن (خدا کے رُوبرو جواب دہی کے لئے) پیش کیا جانے والا ہو۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Is he, then, to whom We have promised a goodly promise, the fulfilment of which he will meet, [c]like him whom We have provided with the good things of this life only, and then on the Day of Resurrection he will be among those who are brought before God to give an account of their deeds?

20:132; 26:206-208.

Is he, then, to whom We have promised a goodly promise, the fulfilment of which he will meet, [b]like him whom We have provided with the good things of this life only, and then on the Day of Resurrection he will be among those who will be brought to account before God?[2921]

Commentary:

The present verse continues and further develops the theme of its predecessor. It purports to say, "let not those who are given only a temporary enjoyment of the good things of this life deceive themselves into the false notion that the good things will last forever. In their very nature they are temporary but the fact that those who have been provided with material amenities and comforts have defied and flouted God’s Message and rejected His Messenger has lessened their tenure all the more and in addition the disbelievers will be punished in this world and the next."

بھلا وہ شخص جس سے ہم نے اچھا وعدہ کیا ہو اور وہ اسے پانے والا ہو کبھی اس شخص کی طرح ہو سکتا ہے جسے ہم نے صرف حیات دنیا کا سروسامان دے دیا ہو اور پھر وہ قیامت کے روز سزا کے لیے پیش کیا جانے والا ہو؟

English - Sahih

Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will obtain like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]?

پھر کیا وہ شخص جس سے ہم نے اچھا وعدہ کیا ہو سو وہ اسے پانے والا بھی ہو اس کے برابر ہے جسے ہم نے دنیا کی زندگی کا فائدہ دیا پھر وہ قیامت کے دن پکڑا ہوا آئے گا

Then is (he) whom We have promised him a promise good, and he (will) meet it, like (the one) whom We provided him enjoyment (of the) life (of) the world then he (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection (will be) among those presented?

Will you not understand? What, is he to whom We have promised a fair promise, and he receives it, like him to whom We have given the enjoyment of the present life, then he on the Resurrection Day shall be of those that are arraigned?

Now, he to whom We have promised a good which he is going to obtain - can he be like him whom We have given the good things of this life, but who will be brought up for punishment on the Day of Judgement?
