اَنَا اللّٰہُ اَعلَمُ: میں اللہ سب سے زیادہ جاننے والاہوں۔

Alif Lām Mīm (Je suis Allāh, le Plus-Savant).
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
میں اللہ سب سے زیادہ جاننے والا ہوں۔
حروف مقطعات ایک ایک لفظ یا جملہ کے قائمقام ہیں۔ جیسا کہ احادیث رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور آثار صحابہؓ سے ثابت ہے یا بعض جگہ وہ قائمقام ہوتے ہیں اعداد کے۔ الٓـمّٓ میں الف اَ نَا کا قائم مقام ہے اور ’’ل‘‘ اللّٰہ اور ’’م‘‘ اَعْلَمُ کا۔ یعنی میں اللہ سب سے زیادہ جاننے والا ہوں۔

Commentary:
The present and the following three chapters are headed by the abbreviated letters (مقطعات) Alif Lam Mim. For an explanation and significance of these letters, in fact for all abbreviations placed at the head of any Surah, see note under 2:2 & 19:2. The above three letters stand for انا الله أعلم i.e. I am Allah, the All-Knowing. See also 30:2.
