فَاِنَّکَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ الۡمَوۡتٰی وَلَا تُسۡمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَآءَ اِذَا وَلَّوۡا مُدۡبِرِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And thou canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call, when they turn away showing their backs.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس تُو یقیناً مُردوں کو نہیں سُنا سکتا اور نہ بہروں کو (اپنی) دعوت سنا سکتا ہے جب وہ پیٹھ پھیرتے ہوئے چلے جائیں۔

French

Et tu ne peux pas faire entendre les morts, et tu ne peux pas non plus faire entendre l’appel aux sourds, lorsqu’ils tournent le dos et se retirent.

German

Und du kannst die Toten nicht hörend machen, noch kannst du die Tauben den Ruf hören machen, wenn sie den Rücken kehren,

(让他们这样做去吧!) 因为你不能使死者听到, 当聋子转身过去, [a]你也不能使他们听到呼唤;

E tu non puoi far udire i morti, né puoi far sì che i sordi sentano la chiamata, quando si allontanano voltando le spalle;

Spanish

Mas no puedes hacer que los muertos oigan, ni puedes hacer que los sordos oigan la llamada, cuando se dan la vuelta mostrando sus espaldas;

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(پس تو ان کو ایسا کرنے دے) کیونکہ نہ تو تو مردوں کو سنا سکتا ہے اور نہ بہروں کو اس وقت (اپنی) آواز سنا سکتا ہے جب وہ پیٹھ پھیر کر لوٹ جائیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And thou canst not make the dead to hear, [c]nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call, when they retreat turning their backs;

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(اے نبیؐ) تم مُردوں کو نہیں سنا سکتے، نہ اُن بہروں کو اپنی پکار سنا سکتے ہو جو پیٹھ پھیرے بھاگے چلے جا رہے ہوں

English - Sahih

So indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs, retreating.

بے شک تو مردوں کو نہیں سنا سکتا اور نہ بہروں کو آواز سنا سکتا ہے جب وہ پیٹھ پھیر کرپھر جائیں
