39:23

أَفَمَن شَرَحَ ٱللَّهُ صَدْرَهُۥ لِلْإِسْلَٰمِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْقَٰسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Is he then whose bosom Allah has opened for the acceptance of Islam, so that he possesses a light from his Lord, like him who is groping in the darkness of disbelief ? Woe, then, to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah! They are in manifest error.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس کیا وہ کہ جس کا سینہ اللہ اسلام کے لئے کھول دے پھر وہ اپنے ربّ کی طرف سے ایک نور پر (بھی) قائم ہو (وہ ذکر سے عاری لوگوں کی طرح ہو سکتا ہے؟) پس ہلاکت ہو ان کے لئے جن کے دل اللہ کے ذکر سے (محروم رہتے ہوئے) سخت ہیں۔ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو کھلی کھلی گمراہی میں ہیں۔

French

Celui donc, dont Allāh a préparé le cœur pour l’acceptation de l’Islam de sorte qu’il est établi sur une lumière de la part de son Seigneur, est-il pareil à celui qui est perdu dans l’obscurité de la mécréance ? Malheur donc à ceux dont le cœur est endurci contre le souvenir d’Allāh ! Ceux-là sont dans une erreur manifeste.

German

Ist denn der, dem Allah das Herz geweitet hat für den Islam, so dass er ein Licht von seinem Herrn empfängt (einem Ungläubigen gleich)? Wehe drum denen, deren Herzen verhärtet sind gegen den Gedanken an Allah! Sie sind es, die in offenkundigem Irrtum sind.

[d]安拉使谁的心喜欢伊斯兰教, 他获得他的养主的光辉,[1131] (他与不信的黑暗中摸索者一样)? 愿为记念安拉心肠变硬的人吃苦头! 他们在明显的迷误中。

6:126.

伊斯兰教的教导的深度和广度是非常大的, 使信仰的人的胸襟扩大, 洋溢着来自安拉的知识和热爱。它必然在思想、知识和真理等方面开辟新的以及无穷无尽的远景。

Italian

Colui il cui petto è stato aperto da Allah per accogliere l'Islam, così che possieda una luce da parte del suo Signore, è forse simile a colui che sta brancolando nelle tenebre della miscredenza? Guai, dunque, a coloro i cui cuori sono induriti, tanto da non ricordarsi di Allah! Costoro sono in errore evidente.

Spanish

¿Acaso es aquel cuyo seno ha abierto Al‑lah para la aceptación del Islam, a fin de que sea guiado por una luz procedente de su Señor, como quien anda a tientas en las tinieblas de la incredulidad? ¡Ay, pues, de aquellos cuyos corazones están endurecidos contra el recuerdo de Al‑lah! Están en un error evidente.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

کیا جس کا سینہ اللہ فرمانبرداری کے لئے کھول دے اور اس کو اپنے رب کی طرف سے نور بھی ملا ہو (وہ اس کے برابر ہو سکتا ہے جو ایسا نہیں) پس افسوس ان پر جن کے دل اللہ کے ذکر سے سختی محسوس کرتے ہیں۔ وہ بڑی کھلی گمراہی میں ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[d]Is he then whose bosom Allah has opened for the acceptance of Islam, so that he possesses a light[2571] from his Lord, like him who is groping in the darkness of disbelief? Woe, then, to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah! They are in manifest error.

6:126.

The teaching of Islam has such depth and vastness that it makes the hearts of believers expand and overflow with Divine knowledge and love. It certainly opens up new and endless vistas of thought, knowledge and truth.

English - Five Volume Translation

[a]Is he then whose bosom Allah has opened for the acceptance of Islam, so that he possesses a light from his Lord, like him who is groping in the darkness of disbelief? Woe, then, to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah! They are in manifest error.[3451]

6:126.

Commentary:

Whereas in the preceding verse reference was made to Divine revelation, in the present verse we are told that now that the Quran has been revealed those whose hearts God has opened for the acceptance of truth have accepted it but those who have chosen to grope in the darkness of disbelief have rejected it. These two classes of men cannot be equal. The verse further says that truth carries with it a strong conviction. The teaching of Islam has such depth and vastness that it makes the hearts of believers to expand and overflow with Divine knowledge and love. It certainly opens up new and endless vistas of thought, knowledge and truth.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اب کیا وہ شخص جس کا سینہ اللہ نے اسلام کے لیے کھول دیا اور وہ اپنے رب کی طرف سے ایک روشنی پر چل رہا ہے (اُس شخص کی طرح ہو سکتا ہے جس نے اِن باتوں سے کوئی سبق نہ لیا؟) تباہی ہے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جن کے دل اللہ کی نصیحت سے اور زیادہ سخت ہو گئے وہ کھلی گمراہی میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں

English - Sahih

So is one whose breast Allah has expanded to [accept] Islam and he is upon a light from his Lord [like one whose heart rejects it]? Then woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah. Those are in manifest error.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

بھلا جس کا سینہ الله نے دین اسلام کے لئے کھول دیا ہے سو وہ اپنے رب کی طرف سے روشنی میں ہے سوجن لوگوں کے دل الله کے ذکر سے متاثر نہیں ہوتے ان کے لیے بڑی خرابی ہے یہ لوگ کھلی گمراہی میں ہیں

English - Talal Itani

So is (one for) whom Allah has expanded his breast for Islam so he (is) upon a light from his Lord. So woe to (those are) hardened their hearts from (the) remembrance of Allah. Those (are) in error clear.

English - Arberry

Is he whose breast God has expanded unto Islam, so he walks in a light from his Lord...? But woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of God! Those are in manifest error.

English - Maududi

Can he whose breast Allah has opened up for Islam and who is thus (moving along a Path) illumined by a light from Allah (be likened to him who derives no lesson from what he observes)? Woe, then, to those whose hearts were further hardened after Allah's admonition. Such are indeed in obvious error.

Will he whose breast has been opened up to peace (not be) in luminescence from his Lord? Alas for those whose hearts have been hardened to God's remembrance! They wander (astray) in clear error.

Is one whose heart Allah has opened to Islam, so that he has received Enlightenment from Allah, (no better than one hard-hearted)? Woe to those whose hearts are hardened against celebrating the praises of Allah! they are manifestly wandering (in error)!
