إِن تَكْفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنكُمْ ۖ وَلَا يَرْضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ ٱلْكُفْرَ ۖ وَإِن تَشْكُرُوا۟ يَرْضَهُ لَكُمْ ۗ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ۗ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
If you are ungrateful, surely Allah is Self-Sufficient being independent of you. And He is not pleased with ingratitude in His servants. But if you show gratefulness, He likes it in you. And no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return; And He will inform you of what you have been doing. Surely, He knows full well all that is hidden in the breasts.

اگر تم انکار کرو تو یقیناً اللہ تم سے مستغنی ہے اور وہ اپنے بندوں کے لئے کفر پسند نہیں کرتا اور اگر تم شکر کرو تو وہ اسے تمہارے لئے پسند کرتا ہے۔ اور کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والی کسی دوسری کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھائے گی۔ پھر تم سب کو اپنے ربّ کی طرف لوٹنا ہے۔ پس وہ تمہیں ان اعمال سے باخبر کرے گا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے۔ یقیناً وہ سینوں کے رازوں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔
French
Si vous êtes ingrats, assurément Allāh Se suffit à Lui-Même et est indépendant de vous. Et Il n’approuve pas l’ingratitude de la part de Ses serviteurs. Mais si vous êtes reconnaissants, cela Lui plaît en vous. Et aucune âme porteuse de fardeau ne portera le fardeau d’une autre. Ensuite vers votre Seigneur sera votre retour ; et Il vous informera de ce que vous faisiez. Assurément, Il sait très bien tout ce qui est caché dans les poitrines.

Wenn ihr ungläubig seid, so ist Allah euer nicht bedürftig. Doch Ihm gefällt Unglauben an Seinen Dienern nicht. Seid ihr aber dankbar, so gefällt Ihm das an euch. Und keine Lasttragende kann die Last einer anderen tragen. Danach ist zu eurem Herrn eure Heimkehr; und Er wird euch verkünden, was ihr zu tun pflegtet. Fürwahr, Er weiß wohl, was in den Herzen ist.

Se siete ingrati, per certo Allah è Autosufficiente, essendo indipendente da voi. E a Lui non piace l'ingratitudine dei Suoi servi. Ma se mostrate riconoscenza, a Lui piace questo in voi. E nessuno, che porti un peso, porterà il peso di un altro. Al vostro Signore dovrete ritornare. Ed Egli vi informerà su tutto quello che avrete fatto. Per certo, Egli conosce bene ciò che è nascosto nei petti.

Si sois desagradecidos, en verdad Al‑lah es Autosuficiente, por ser independiente de vosotros. Mas Él no aprueba la ngratitud en Sus siervos. Pero si mostráis gratitud, le agrada verla en vosotros. Ningún portador de carga llevará la carga de otro. Después volveréis a vuestro Señor; Él os informará lo que habéis estado haciendo. En verdad, Él conoce muy bien lo que hay oculto en los pechos.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اگر تم کفر کرو تو اللہ تمہارا محتاج نہیں‘ اور وہ اپنے بندوں کے لئے کفر کو کبھی پسند نہیں کرتا‘ اور اگر شکر کرو تو وہ اس کو تمہارے لئے پسند کرتا ہے اور کوئی بوجھ[2] اٹھانے والی ہستی دوسرے کے بوجھ کو نہیں اٹھا سکتی اور تم سب کو اپنے رب کی طرف ہی لوٹ کر جانا ہوگا۔ تب وہ تمہیں تمہارے اعمال سے خبردار کرے گا وہ سینوں کے اندر کی چھپی ہوئی باتوں کو جاننے [3]والا ہے۔
دیکھئے نوٹ سورۃ انعام آیت۱۶۵۔
یعنی دل کی باتوں کو۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
If you are ungrateful, surely Allah is Self-Sufficient, being independent of you. And He is not pleased with ingratitude in His servants. But if you are grateful,[2566] He likes it in you. [a]And no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return; and He will inform you of what you have been doing. Surely, He knows full well all that is hidden in the breasts.

Whereas Shukr denotes the proper use of Divine favours in a manner intended by God (14:8), Kufr is the misuse of these favours.

If you are ungrateful, surely Allah is Self-Sufficient, being independent of you. And He is not pleased with ungratefulness in His servants. But if you are grateful, He likes it in you. [a]And no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return; and He will inform you of what you have been doing. Commentary:
شکر as explained elsewhere (14:8) denotes the proper use of Divine favours in a manner intended by God. کفر is the misuse of those favours. It is the proper or improper use of God-given powers, faculties, and of Divine favours, blessings and opportunities which is called شکر (thankfulness) or کفر (ingratitude) in the Quran.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
اگر تم کفر کرو تو اللہ تم سے بے نیاز ہے، لیکن وہ اپنے بندوں کے لیے کفر کو پسند نہیں کرتا، اور اگر تم شکر کر و تو اسے وہ تمہارے لیے پسند کرتا ہے کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والا کسی دوسرے کا بوجھ نہ اٹھائے گا آخرکار تم سب کو اپنے رب کی طرف پلٹنا ہے، پھر وہ تمہیں بتا دے گا کہ تم کیا کرتے رہے ہو، وہ تو دلوں کا حال تک جانتا ہے
English - Sahih
If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is Free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you; and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you about what you used to do. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

اگر تم انکار کرو تو بے شک الله تم سے بے نیاز ہے اور وہ اپنے بندوں کے لیے کفر کو پسند نہیں کرتا اور اگر تم شکر کرو تو وہ اسے تمہارے لیے پسند کرتا ہے اور کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والا دوسرے کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھائے گا پھر اپنے رب ہی کی طرف تمہیں لوٹ کر جانا ہے سو وہ تمہیں بتا دے گا جو کچھ تم کرتے رہے ہو بے شک وہ سینوں کے بھید جاننے والا ہے
English - Talal Itani
If you disbelieve then indeed, Allah (is) free from need of you. And not He likes in His slaves ungratefulness. And if you are grateful He likes it in you. And not will bear bearer of burdens (the) burden (of) another. Then to your Lord (is) your return, then He will inform you about what you used to do. Indeed, He (is) the All-Knower of what (is) in the breasts.

English - Arberry
If you are unthankful, God is independent of you, yet He approves not unthankfulness in His servants; but if you are thankful, He will approve it in you. And no soul laden bears the load of another. Then to your Lord shall you return, and He will tell you what you have been doing. He knows the thoughts within the breasts.
English - Maududi
If you disbelieve, know well that Allah has no need of you. Yet He does not like unbelief in His servants. But if you are thankful, your thankfulness will please Him. No one shall bear another's burden. You are destined to return to your Lord and He will tell you what you used to do. He is well aware even of what lies hidden in your breasts.

If you are ungrateful, then remember! God is independent of you, and He does not favour ingratitude on the part of His creatures. If you are grateful He will be pleased with you. For no one who carries a burden bears another's load; and your returning is to your Lord, when He will tell you what you used to do. Surely He knows what is in the hearts.

If ye reject (Allah), Truly Allah hath no need of you; but He liketh not ingratitude from His servants: if ye are grateful, He is pleased with you. No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. In the end, to your Lord is your Return, when He will tell you the truth of all that ye did (in this life). for He knoweth well all that is in (men's) hearts.
