40:36

ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَٰنٍ أَتَىٰهُمْ ۖ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَعِندَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

“Those who dispute concerning the Signs of Allah without any authority having come to them. Grievously hateful is this in the sight of Allah and in the sight of those who believe. Thus does Allah seal up the heart of every arrogant, haughty person.”

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اُن لوگوں کو جو اللہ کی آیات کے بارہ میں بغیر کسی غالب دلیل کے جو اُن کے پاس آئی ہو جھگڑتے ہیں۔ اللہ کے نزدیک یہ بہت بڑا گناہ ہے اور اُن کے نزدیک بھی جو ایمان لائے ہیں۔ اسی طرح اللہ ہر متکبر (اور) سخت جابر کے دل پر مہر لگا دیتا ہے۔

French

Ceux qui discutent à propos des Signes d’Allāh, sans qu’aucune autorité ne leur soit venue. Ceci est extrêmement odieux aux yeux d’Allāh et de ceux qui croient. C’est ainsi qu’Allāh scelle le cœur de tout tyran arrogant. »

German

solche, die über die Zeichen Allahs streiten, ohne dass irgendeine Ermächtigung zu ihnen kam. Schmerzhaft hassenswert ist das vor Allah und vor jenen, die gläubig sind. Also versiegelt Allah das Herz eines jeden Hoffärtigen, Stolzen.

凡不具有安拉的任何证据, 而争辩安拉的迹象者, (他们当知:) 这在安拉和信仰者看来是极为可恶的。安拉就这样封闭每一个骄傲自大者的心。

Italian

coloro che mettono in discussione i segni di Allah, senza averne avuto autorità alcuna da Lui. Ciò è quanto mai odioso agli occhi di Allah e agli occhi di quelli che credono. Così Allah pone un sigillo sul cuore di ogni persona arrogante, prepotente.»

Spanish

“A quienes disputan sobre los Signos de Al-lah sin que les haya sido dada autoridad alguna. Esto es terriblemente odioso a la vista de Al-lah y a la vista de quienes creen. Así sella Al-lah el corazón de toda persona arrogante, orgullosa”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

جو لوگ اللہ کی آیتوں میں بغیر کسی دلیل کے جو ان کے پاس (اللہ کی طرف سے) آئی ہو بحثیں کرتے ہیں (ان کو معلوم ہونا چایئے کہ) یہ اللہ کے نزدیک اور مومنوں کے نزدیک بہت بُرا ہے اسی طرح اللہ متکبر انسان کے پورےکے پورے [1]دل پر مہر لگا دیتا ہے۔

بظاہر یہ الفاظ ہونے چاہئیں۔ کہ ہر متکبر کے دل پر مہر لگا دیتا ہے مگر قرآن مجید کہتا ہے کہ متکبر کے سارے دل پر مہر لگا دیتا ہے۔ قرآن مجید کا یہ استعمال بے نظیر ہے۔ کیونکہ ہر متکبر کے دل پر مہر لگنے سے وہ بات نہیں نکلتی جو ایک کامل متکبر کے سارے دل پر مہر لگانے سے نکلتی ہے کیونکہ اس دوسری بات سے یہ نتیجہ نکالا گیا ہے کہ ہدایت کی راہیں مختلف ہوتی ہیں۔ ایک گمراہ شخص بھی ہدایت کی کوئی راہ پا سکتا ہے لیکن جو کامل متکبر ہو اس کے لئے سب ہدایت کی راہیں بند ہو جاتی ہیں اور دل کے ہر حصہ پر مہر لگ جاتی ہے کوئی راہ ہدایت کی اس کے لئے کھلی نہیں رہتی۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Those who dispute concerning the Signs of Allah without any authority having come to them from Allah. Grievously hateful is this in the Sight of Allah and in the sight of those who believe. Thus does Allah set a seal upon the heart of every arrogant, haughty person.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور اللہ کی آیات میں جھگڑے کرتے ہیں بغیر اس کے کہ ان کے پاس کوئی سند یا دلیل آئی ہو یہ رویہ اللہ اور ایمان لانے والوں کے نزدیک سخت مبغوض ہے اِسی طرح اللہ ہر متکر و جبار کے دل پر ٹھپہ لگا دیتا ہے

English - Sahih

Those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah without an authority having come to them - great is hatred [of them] in the sight of Allah and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus does Allah seal over every heart [belonging to] an arrogant tyrant.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

جو لوگ الله کی آیتوں میں کسی دلیل کے سوا جو ان کے پاس پہنچی ہو جھگڑتے ہیں الله اور ایمان والوں کے نزدیک (یہ) بڑی نازیبا بات ہے الله ہر ایک متکبّر سرکش کے دل پر اسی طرح مہر کر دیا کرتا ہے

Those who dispute concerning (the) Signs (of) Allah without any authority (having) come to them, (it) is greatly hateful near Allah and near those who believe. Thus Allah sets a seal over every heart (of) an arrogant tyrant."

(Those who dispute concerning the signs of God, without any authority come to them, very hateful is that in the sight of God and the believers; 'so God sets a seal on every heart proud', arrogant.)

those who contend regarding Allah's Signs without any evidence that might have come to them. That is exceedingly loathsome to Allah and to those that believe. Thus does Allah seal the heart of everyone who is proud and high-handed.

Those who dispute God's revelations, with no authority having come to them, (are) greatly odious in the sight of God, and the sight of those who believe. That is how God seals every proud and perverse heart."
