2:8

خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ ۖ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ غِشَٰوَةٌ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

Allah / Sets A Seal On Their Hearts, (Khatama), (Taba‘a)Ears / Disbelievers Do Not HearHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedSeal (Khatama)Belief (Iman) / Those Who Have NoDisbelief (Kufr)
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Allah has set a seal on their hearts and their ears, and over their eyes is a covering; and for them is a great punishment.
2:89

وَقَالُوا۟ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌۢ ۚ بَل لَّعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَقَلِيلًا مَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

They said: ‘Our hearts are wrapped in covers.’ Nay, Allah has cursed them for their disbelief. Little is that which they believe.
4:156

فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِم مِّيثَٰقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِم بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌۢ ۚ بَلْ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

Allah / Sets A Seal On Their Hearts, (Khatama), (Taba‘a)Covenant (Mithaq, ‘Ahd) / With JewsHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedKufr / DisbeliefProphets(as,Anbiya’) / Slaying OfSeal (Taba‘a)Bani Isra’il / Broke The Covenant, Perverted The Word

Then, because of their breaking of their covenant, and their denial of the Signs of Allah, and their seeking to kill the Prophets unjustly, and their saying: ‘Our hearts are wrapped in covers,’ — nay, but Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe not but little —
6:26

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا ۚ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوكَ يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

And among them are some who give ear to thee; but We have put veils on their hearts, that they should not understand, and deafness in their ears. And even if they see every Sign, they would not believe therein, so much so, that when they come to thee, disputing with thee, those who disbelieve say, ‘This is nothing but fables of the ancients.’
6:47

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ سَمْعَكُمْ وَأَبْصَٰرَكُمْ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُم مَّنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ ۗ ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ ثُمَّ هُمْ يَصْدِفُونَ

Say, ‘What think ye? If Allah should take away your hearing and your sight, and seal up your hearts, who is the God other than Allah who could bring it back to you?’ See how We vary the Signs, yet they turn away.
6:111

وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفْـِٔدَتَهُمْ وَأَبْصَٰرَهُمْ كَمَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَنَذَرُهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

Disbelief (Kufr) / Punishment Of AHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedTransgression (Tagha), (‘Udwan)Signs / Rejecters Of

And We shall confound their hearts and their eyes, as they believed not therein at the first time, and We shall leave them in their transgression to wander in distraction.
7:101

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

Heart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedSeal (Taba‘a)Sin (Dhanb) / Punishment Of

Does it not afford guidance to those who have inherited the earth in succession to its former inhabitants, that if We please, We can smite them for their sins and seal up their hearts, so that they should not hear?
7:102

تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَا ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Allah / Never Destroys A Township Without A WarnerBelief (Iman) / Those Who Have NoHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, Straitened

Such were the towns some of whose news We have related to thee. And their Messengers did indeed come to them with clear Signs. But they would not believe what they had disbelieved before. In this manner does Allah seal up the hearts of the disbelievers.
7:180

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ

Animals (Dabbah), (An‘am) / SimilitudesBreast (Fu‘ad, Qalb)Cattle (An‘am) / Sinners Are LikeDallin / AstrayEars / Disbelievers Do Not HearHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedJinn / Men, Those Hidden From Public Eye
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Verily, We have created many of the Jinn and men whose end shall be Hell! They have hearts but they understand not therewith, and they have eyes but they see not therewith, and they have ears but they hear not therewith. They are like cattle; nay, they are even more astray. They are indeed quite heedless.
9:87

رَضُوا۟ بِأَن يَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلْخَوَالِفِ وَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ

They are content to be with the womenfolk, and their hearts are sealed so that they understand not.
9:93

۞ إِنَّمَا ٱلسَّبِيلُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَـْٔذِنُونَكَ وَهُمْ أَغْنِيَآءُ ۚ رَضُوا۟ بِأَن يَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلْخَوَالِفِ وَطَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Allah / Sets A Seal On Their Hearts, (Khatama), (Taba‘a)Heart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedSeal (Taba‘a)

The cause of reproach is only against those who ask leave of thee, while they are rich. They are content to be with the womenfolk. And Allah has set a seal upon their hearts so that they know not.
9:110

لَا يَزَالُ بُنْيَٰنُهُمُ ٱلَّذِى بَنَوْا۟ رِيبَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَّآ أَن تَقَطَّعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

Heart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedParable Of / Shaky Foundation Back
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
This building of theirs, which they have built, will ever continue to be a source of disquiet in their hearts, unless their hearts be torn to pieces. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise.
10:75

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ بِهِۦ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

Heart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedSeal (Taba‘a)

Then We sent, after him, other Messengers to their respective peoples, and they brought them clear proofs. But they would not believe in them, because they had rejected them before. Thus do We seal the hearts of transgressors.
11:13

فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌۢ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَضَآئِقٌۢ بِهِۦ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُۥ مَلَكٌ ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ نَذِيرٌ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَكِيلٌ

They imagine that thou art now perhaps going to abandon part of that which has been revealed to thee; and thy bosom is becoming straitened thereby because they say, ‘Wherefore has not a treasure been sent down to him or an angel come with him?’ Verily, thou art only a Warner, and Allah is Guardian over all things.
14:44

مُهْطِعِينَ مُقْنِعِى رُءُوسِهِمْ لَا يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ ۖ وَأَفْـِٔدَتُهُمْ هَوَآءٌ

Heart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedMeccans

Hurrying on in fright, raising up their heads, their gaze not returning to them, and their minds utterly void.
15:98

وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ

Breast (Fu‘ad, Qalb)Heart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedMuhammad(sa) / Love And Mercy For MankindMuhammad(sa) / And Disbelievers

And, indeed, We know that thy bosom becomes straitened because of what they say.
16:109

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ

Allah / Sets A Seal On Their Hearts, (Khatama), (Taba‘a)Belief (Iman) / Recantation OfEars / Disbelievers Do Not HearHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, Straitened
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
It is they on whose hearts and ears and eyes Allah has set a seal. And it is they who are the heedless.
17:47

وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا ۚ وَإِذَا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ فِى ٱلْقُرْءَانِ وَحْدَهُۥ وَلَّوْا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَدْبَٰرِهِمْ نُفُورًا

Allah / Is OneDeafEars / Disbelievers Do Not HearHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, Straitened
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And We put coverings over their hearts lest they should understand it, and in their ears a deafness. And when thou makest mention in the Qur’an of thy Lord alone, they turn their backs in aversion.
