40:84

فَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡہُمۡ رُسُلُہُمۡ بِالۡبَیِّنٰتِ فَرِحُوۡا بِمَا عِنۡدَہُمۡ مِّنَ الۡعِلۡمِ وَحَاقَ بِہِمۡ مَّا کَانُوۡا بِہٖ یَسۡتَہۡزِءُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And when their Messengers came to them with manifest Signs, they exulted in the knowledge which they possessed. And that at which they mocked encompassed them.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس جب اُن کے پاس ان کے پیغمبر کھلے کھلے نشان لے کر آئے تو وہ اُسی علم پر شاداں رہے جو اُن کے پاس تھا اور ان کو اُسی بات نے گھیر لیا جس سے وہ تمسخر کیا کرتے تھے۔

French

Et lorsque leurs Messagers sont venus à eux avec des Signes manifestes, ils s’enorgueillirent des connaissances qu’ils possédaient. Et ce dont ils se moquèrent les cerna.

Und wenn ihre Gesandten zu ihnen kamen mit deutlichen Zeichen, so frohlockten sie über das Wissen, das sie (selbst) besaßen. Und das, worüber sie zu spotten pflegten, umfing sie.

当使者们为他们带来明显的迹象, 他们非常得意于他们所有的 (一点) 知识。他们向来嘲笑的惩罚便包围了他们。

E quando i loro messaggeri li raggiunsero con segni evidenti, essi si compiacquero della conoscenza che possedevano. E ciò di cui si erano beffati li avvolse.

Pues cuando sus Mensajeros llegaron a ellos con Signos manifiestos, se regocijaron del conocimiento que poseían. Y porque aquello de lo que se burlaron los rodeó.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جب اُن کے پاس اُن کے رسول نشانات لے کر آئے‘ تو ان کے پاس جو تھوڑا بہت علم تھا اس پر فخر کرنے لگے اور جس (عذاب) کی وہ ہنسی اڑاتے تھے اسی نے ان کو گھیر لیا۔

And when their Messengers came to them with manifest Signs, they exulted in the little knowledge they had. And that at which they mocked encompassed them.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جب ان کے رسول ان کے پاس بینات لے کر آئے تو وہ اُسی علم میں مگن رہے جو ان کے اپنے پاس تھا، اور پھر اُسی چیز کے پھیر میں آ گئے جس کا وہ مذاق اڑاتے تھے

And when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they [merely] rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, but they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

پس جب ان کے رسول ان کے پا س کھلی دلیلیں لائے تووہ اپنے علم و دانش پر اترانے لگے اور جس پر وہ ہنسی کرتےتھے وہ ان پر الٹ پڑا
