2:119

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلَا يُكَلِّمُنَا ٱللَّهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَآ ءَايَةٌ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ ۘ تَشَٰبَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ

Certainty (Yaqin)Knowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversMuhammad(sa) / And Disbelievers
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And those who have no knowledge say, ‘Why does not Allah speak to us, or a Sign come to us?’ Likewise said those before them similar to their saying. Their hearts are alike. We have certainly made the Signs plain for a people who firmly believe.
3:62

فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

Now whoso disputes with thee concerning him, after what has come to thee of knowledge, say to him, ‘Come, let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and our people and your people; then let us pray fervently and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie.’
4:158

وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا ٱلْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ ۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلَّا ٱتِّبَاعَ ٱلظَّنِّ ۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينًۢا

And their saying, ‘We did kill the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah;’ whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified; and those who differ therein are certainly in a state of doubt about it; they have no definite knowledge thereof, but only follow a conjecture; and they did not convert this conjecture into a certainty;
5:105

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ

Allah / Revelation Through Chosen MessengersKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversTaqlid

And when it is said to them, ‘Come to what Allah has revealed, and to the Messenger,’ they say, ‘Sufficient for us is that wherein we found our fathers.’ What! even though their fathers had no knowledge and no guidance?
6:101

وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ ٱلْجِنَّ وَخَلَقَهُمْ ۖ وَخَرَقُوا۟ لَهُۥ بَنِينَ وَبَنَٰتٍۭ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Adoration (Sabbih), Praise, Exalt, Pray, Glorify / Glory Be To AllahAllah / Has No PartnersAllah / Has No Progeny, WifeAllah / Holy, Exalted, Far Above Other GodsDaughters / Attribute To AllahJinn / A Creation Of AllahKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversShirk / Negation Of
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And they hold the Jinn to be partners with Allah, although He created them; and they falsely ascribe to Him sons and daughters without any knowledge. Holy is He and exalted far above what they attribute to Him!
6:120

وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُم مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا ٱضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ ۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا لَّيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَآئِهِم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

Animals (Dabbah), (An‘am) / LawfulKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversUnlawful (Haram)Lawful (Halal)

And what reason have you that you should not eat of that over which the name of Allah has been pronounced, when He has already explained to you that which He has forbidden unto you — save that which you are forced to? And surely many mislead others by their evil desires through lack of knowledge. Assuredly, thy Lord knows best the transgressors.
6:141

قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَتَلُوٓا۟ أَوْلَٰدَهُمْ سَفَهًۢا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَحَرَّمُوا۟ مَا رَزَقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱفْتِرَآءً عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ

Allah / Forbids Unlawful SlayingChildren / Do Not Slay YourDallin / AstrayInfanticideKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And IgnorantKnowledge (‘Ilm) / Qur’an For Attainment OfLosers (Khasirun)Arabs / Customs And PracticesCustoms Of / ArabsIdolators / Pagans, (Mushrikin) / Evil Practices Of

Losers indeed are they who kill their children foolishly for lack of knowledge, and make unlawful what Allah has provided for them, forging a lie against Allah. They have indeed gone astray and are not rightly guided.
6:149

سَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَآ أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَىْءٍ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُوا۟ بَأْسَنَا ۗ قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَآ ۖ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُونَ

Conjecture (Zann)Idolators / Pagans, (Mushrikin) / Are LiarsKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversKnowledge (‘Ilm) / Qur’an For Attainment OfMoral Traits / LyingFalsehood (Batil) / Prophets Accused Of

Those who join gods with God will say, ‘If Allah had pleased, we could not have joined gods with Him, nor could our fathers; nor could we have made anything unlawful.’ In like manner did those who were before them accuse God’s Messengers of falsehood, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say, ‘Have you any knowledge? Then produce it for us. You follow nothing but mere conjecture. And you do nothing but lie.’
9:6

وَإِنْ أَحَدٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ٱسْتَجَارَكَ فَأَجِرْهُ حَتَّىٰ يَسْمَعَ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ أَبْلِغْهُ مَأْمَنَهُۥ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ

Compulsion In Faith (Ikrah Fid-Din)Jihad / WagingKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversPreaching / Without CoercionToleranceWar (Qital) / Prisoners OfWar (Qital) / To End Disorder, And Achieve PeaceIdolators / Pagans, (Mushrikin)State / Rules Of WarWar (Qital) / Conditions For

And if anyone of the idolaters ask protection of thee, grant him protection so that he may hear the word of Allah; then convey him to his place of security. That is because they are a people who have no knowledge.
10:40

بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُوا۟ بِعِلْمِهِۦ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيلُهُۥ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Knowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversQur’an / Objections ToQur’an / Excellence, Perfection Of, (Ummul-Kitab)

Nay, but they have rejected that the knowledge of which they did not encompass nor has the true significance thereof yet come to them. In like manner did those before them reject the truth. But see what was the end of those who did wrong!
16:28

ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَٰٓقُّونَ فِيهِمْ ۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ إِنَّ ٱلْخِزْىَ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Affliction (Bala’)Afterlife (Akhirah) / Punishment InDay Of Requital / Resurrection, (Yaumul-Qiyamah, Yaumud-Din, Yaumul-Akhirah, Yaumul-Ba‘th) / Punished On TheDisbelief (Kufr) / Punishment Of AKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And BelieversKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And Disbelievers

Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and will say, “Where are My ‘partners’ for whose sake you used to oppose the Prophets?” Those endowed with knowledge will say, ‘This day disgrace and affliction will surely fall on the disbelievers,’
17:37

وَلَا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْبَصَرَ وَٱلْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْـُٔولًا

Accountability (Hisab) / Allah Calls To Account‘Ain / EyesHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb)Knowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversMoral Traits / SuspicionSuspicionSin (Dhanb) / Grave, Manifest, (Kaba’ir)

And follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge. Verily, the ear and the eye and the heart — all these shall be called to account.
22:4

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّرِيدٍ

DisputeKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And IgnorantSatan / Evil, Rebellious

And among men there are some who dispute concerning Allah without knowledge, and follow every rebellious satan,
22:9

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَٰبٍ مُّنِيرٍ

DisputeKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And Ignorant

And among men there is he who disputes concerning Allah without knowledge and without guidance and without an enlightening Book,
22:72

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَمَا لَيْسَ لَهُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۗ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ

ConscienceKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversWrongdoers (Zalim) / Are Not Helped

And they worship beside Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and that of which they have no knowledge. And for those that do wrong there is no helper.
27:67

بَلِ ٱدَّٰرَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهَا ۖ بَلْ هُم مِّنْهَا عَمُونَ

Afterlife (Akhirah) / Human Knowledge Cannot ComprehendBlind / In The HereafterDoubt (Raib) / About ResurrectionKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversAllah / Existence OfArguments For (Burhan) / Of Allah’s ExistenceKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And ManUnseen / Secret, Hidden / Allah Alone Knows

Nay, their knowledge has reached its end respecting the Hereafter; nay, they are indeed in doubt about it; nay, they are blind to it.
30:8

يَعْلَمُونَ ظَٰهِرًا مِّنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ

Afterlife (Akhirah) / Those Who Reject Have No Real KnowledgeKnowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversLife (Hayat) / Of This World

They know only the outer aspect of the life of this world, and of the Hereafter they are utterly unmindful.
30:59

وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِى هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ ۚ وَلَئِن جِئْتَهُم بِـَٔايَةٍ لَّيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُبْطِلُونَ

Allah / Parables Set Forth By, (Amthal)Knowledge (‘Ilm) / And DisbelieversQur’an / Repeatedly Explains
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And truly, We have set forth for men in this Qur’an every kind of parable; and indeed, if thou bring them a Sign, those who disbelieve will surely say, ‘You are but liars.’
