41:36

وَمَا یُلَقّٰٮہَاۤ اِلَّا الَّذِیۡنَ صَبَرُوۡا وَمَا یُلَقّٰٮہَاۤ اِلَّا ذُوۡ حَظٍّ عَظِیۡمٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

But none is granted it save those who are steadfast; and none is granted it save those who possess a large share of good.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور یہ مقام عطا نہیں کیا جاتا مگر اُن لوگوں کو جنہوں نے صبر کیا۔ اور یہ مقام عطا نہیں کیا جاتا مگر اُسے جو بڑے نصیب والا ہو۔

French

Mais cela n’est accordé qu’à ceux qui sont endurants ; et cela n’est accordé qu’à ceux qui possèdent une très grande mesure de bonté.

Aber dies wird nur denen gewährt, die standhaft sind; und keinem wird es gewährt als dem Besitzer großen Seelenadels.

只有坚忍的人, 才受赐这种 (美德), 只有行许多 (善功) 的人, 才受赐这种 (美德)。

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور (باوجود ظلموں کے سہنے کے) اس (قسم کے سلوک) کی توفیق صرف انہی کو ملتی ہے جو بڑے صبر کرنے والے ہیں اور یا پھر ان کو ملتی ہے جن کو (خدا کی طرف سے نیکی کا) ایک بہت بڑا حصہ ملا ہو۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

But none is granted it save those who are steadfast; and none is granted it save those who possess a large share of good.

English - Five Volume Translation

But none is granted it save those who are steadfast; and none is granted it save those who possess a large share of good.[3585]

Important Words:

حظ (share of good) is infinitive noun from حظ (hazza). They say حظ فی الامر i.e. he was or became fortunate or possessed of good fortune in the affair; he was or became wealthy. حظmeans, fortune or particularly good fortune; a share, portion or lot, especially of something good or excellent, luck; dignity; nobility (Lane & Aqrab).

Commentary:

The very high standard of good moral conduct referred to in the preceding verse can only be attained by putting up, without grumbling or fretting, with hardships one has to face in the way of God. And fortunate, indeed, is the person who disciplines himself to such a high standard.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

یہ صفت نصیب نہیں ہوتی مگر اُن لوگوں کو جو صبر کرتے ہیں، اور یہ مقام حاصل نہیں ہوتا مگر اُن لوگوں کو جو بڑے نصیبے والے ہیں

English - Sahih

But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good].

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اور یہ بات نہیں دی جاتی مگر انہیں جو صابر ہوتے ہیں اور یہ بات نہیں دی جاتی مگر اس کو جو بڑا بخت والا ہے

And not it is granted except (to) those who (are) patient and not it is granted except (to the) owner (of) fortune great.

اردہ تفصیرِ صغیر نوٹس ^*

English - Arberry

Yet none shall receive it, except the steadfast; none shall receive it, except a man of mighty fortune.

But none attains to this except those who are steadfast; none attains to this except those endowed with mighty good fortune.

Only they attain it who forbear, and only a man of great good fortune can achieve it.
