42:9

وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰہُ لَجَعَلَہُمۡ اُمَّۃً وّٰحِدَۃً وَّلٰکِنۡ یُّدۡخِلُ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ فِیۡ رَحۡمَتِہٖ ۚ وَالظّٰلِمُوۡنَ مَا لَہُمۡ مِّنۡ وَّلِیٍّ وَّلَا نَصِیۡرٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And if Allah had so pleased, He could have made them one people; but He admits into His mercy whomsoever He pleases. And as for the wrongdoers, they will have no protector and no helper.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو اُنہیں ایک ہی امّت بنا دیتا۔ لیکن وہ جسے چاہتا ہے اپنی رحمت میں داخل کرتا ہے اور جہاں تک ظالموں کا تعلق ہے تو اُن کے لئے نہ کوئی دوست ہے اور نہ کوئی مددگار۔

French

Et si Allāh l’avait voulu, Il aurait pu faire d’eux un seul peuple : mais Il admet dans Sa miséricorde qui Il veut. Et quant aux injustes, ils n’auront pas de protecteur ni d’aide.

German

Hätte Allah gewollt, Er hätte sie zu einer einzigen Gemeinde machen können; jedoch Er lässt in Seine Barmherzigkeit ein, wen Er will. Und die Frevler werden keinen Beschützer noch Helfer haben.

Chinese

[d]设若安拉愿意, 他确能使他们成为一个民族; 但他使他所意欲的人进入他的仁慈中, 至于那些行为不义的人, 他们将没有保护者, 也没有帮助者。

11:119.

Italian

E se Allah lo avesse voluto, avrebbe potuto fare di loro un unico popolo. Ma Egli ammette alla Sua misericordia chi Gli piace. Quanto,/i> ai prevaricatori non avranno protettori o soccorritori.

Spanish

Mas si Al-lah así lo hubiese querido, los hubiese convertido en un pueblo; pero Él admite a Su Misericordia a quien Le agrada. En cuanto a los inicuos, no tendrán protector ni quien les ayude.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور اگر اللہ اپنی مرضی سے کام لیتا (یعنی جبر کرتا) تو ان سب کو ایک جماعت بنا دیتا لیکن وہ جس کو چاہتا ہے اپنی رحمت میں داخل کرتا ہے اور ظالموں کا نہ کوئی پناہ دہندہ ہوتا ہے نہ مددگار۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[d]And if Allah had so willed, He could have made them one people; but He admits into His mercy whomsoever He pleases. The wrongdoers will have no protector and no helper.

11:119.

English - Five Volume Translation

[a]And if Allah had so pleased, He could have made them one people; but He admits into His mercy whomsoever He pleases. And as for the wrongdoers, they will have no protector and no helper.[3608]

Commentary:

The expression یدخل من یشاء فی رحمته besides the translation given in the text, may also mean, "He admits into His mercy him who himself seeks to be admitted into it."

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اگر اللہ چاہتا تو اِن سب کو ایک ہی امت بنا دیتا، مگر وہ جسے چاہتا ہے اپنی رحمت میں داخل کرتا ہے، اور ظالموں کا نہ کوئی ولی ہے نہ مدد گار

English - Sahih

And if Allah willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اور اگر الله چاہتا تو ان سب کو ایک ہی جماعت کر دیتا لیکن الله جسے چاہتا ہے اپنی رحمت میں داخل کرتا ہے اور ظالموں کا نہ کوئی دوست ہے اور نہ کوئی مددگار

English - Talal Itani

And if Allah willed, He could have made them a community one, but He admits whom He wills in (to) His Mercy. And the wrongdoers, not for them any protector and not any helper.

If God had willed, He would have made them one nation; but He admits whomsoever He will into His mercy, and the evildoers shall have neither protector nor helper.

If Allah had so willed, He could have made them all a single community. But He admits whomsoever He pleases into His Mercy. As to those given to wrong-doing, they shall have none as protector or helper.

If God had pleased He would have made them one community of belief; but He admits whom He please to His grace; yet the sinners have neither friend nor helper.
