43:24
وَکَذٰلِکَ مَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِکَ فِیۡ قَرۡیَۃٍ مِّنۡ نَّذِیۡرٍ اِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡرَفُوۡہَاۤ اِنَّا وَجَدۡنَاۤ اٰبَآءَنَا عَلٰۤی اُمَّۃٍ وَّاِنَّا عَلٰۤی اٰثٰرِہِمۡ مُّقۡتَدُوۡنَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And thus has it always been that We never sent any Warner before thee to any township but the evil leaders thereof said: ‘We found our fathers following a certain course, and we are following in their footsteps.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور اسی طرح ہم نے کبھی تجھ سے پہلے کسی بستی میں کوئی ڈرانے والا نہیں بھیجا مگر اسکے خوشحال لوگوں نے کہا کہ یقیناً ہم نے اپنے آباءو اجداد کو ایک خاص مسلک پر پایا اور یقیناً ہم انہی کے نقوشِ قدم پر چلنے والے ہیں۔
French
Et c’est ainsi que cela a toujours été, que Nous n’avons jamais envoyé avant toi un Avertisseur à une ville quelconque, sans que ses gens opulents ne disent : « Nous avons trouvé nos pères suivant une certaine voie, et nous suivons leurs pas. »

Und ebenso sandten Wir keinen Warner vor dir in irgendeine Stadt, ohne dass die Reichen darin gesprochen hätten: "Wir fanden unsere Väter auf einem Weg, und wir treten in ihre Fußstapfen."

同样地, 在你之前, 每逢我派遣一个警告者到一个城市里去, 那个城市的富裕的人总是说: [a]“我们发现我们的祖先遵循一定的道路, 我们继承着他们的遗教。”

E così è sempre stato: Noi non abbiamo mai inviato un qualche ammonitore prima di te a nessuna delle città, senza che i benestanti in essa dicessero: «Abbiamo trovato i nostri padri che seguivano un certo percorso, e noi non facciamo che seguire le loro orme.»

Y así ha ocurrido siempre que nunca hemos enviado Amonestador alguno antes de ti a ninguna ciudad sin que sus moradores rósperos dijeran: “Encontramos a nuestros antecesores siguiendo un determinado camino, y seguimos sus pasos”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور (اے رسول)! تجھ سے پہلے ہم نے کسی بستی میں بھی رسول نہیں بھیجا کہ انہی کی طرح اس کے مالداروں نے یہ نہ کہہ دیا ہو کہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادوں کو ایک طریقہ پر پایا تھا‘ اور ہم انہی کے نقش قدم پر چلیں گے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
Even so We never sent any Warner before thee to any township, but the wealthy ones among them said, [e]‘We found our fathers following a certain course, and we are following in their footsteps.’

And thus has it always been that We never sent any Warner before thee to any township but the evil leaders thereof said: [c]‘We found our fathers following a certain course, and we are following in their footsteps.’[3657]

Commentary:
The hackneyed plea of idolaters to support idol worship has always been that it was a time-honoured practice observed by their forefathers. In fact, old ideas and customs die hard. They have always proved a stumbling block in the way of disbelievers to accept the Divine Message. For the meaning of the word أمة see 6:39 and 16:121.

اِسی طرح تم سے پہلے جس بستی میں بھی ہم نے کوئی نذیر بھیجا، اُس کے کھاتے پیتے لوگوں نے یہی کہا کہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ایک طریقے پر پایا ہے اور ہم اُنہی کے نقش قدم کی پیروی کر رہے ہیں

And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."
