So be thou steadfast in carrying out the command of thy Lord, and be not like the Man of the Fish when he called to his Lord and he was full of grief.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
سو اپنے ربّ کے فیصلے کے انتظار میں صبر کر اور مچھلی والے کی طرح نہ ہو جب اس نے (اپنے ربّ کو) پکارا اور وہ غم سے بھرا ہوا تھا۔
French
Aussi, sois constant dans l’exécution du commandement de ton Seigneur et ne sois pas comme l’homme du Poisson, lorsqu’il supplia son Seigneur alors qu’il suffoquait de chagrin.
German
So warte geduldig auf den Befehl deines Herrn, und sei nicht gleich dem Genossen des Fisches (Jonas)*, da er (seinen Herrn) anrief, indes er von Kummer erfüllt war.

所以你要坚定 (地实践) 你养主的命令, [c]不要像那鱼人 (犹努司) 一样, 那时, 他在满怀的悲伤中, 呼唤 (他的养主)。

Sii dunque risoluto nell'eseguire il comando del tuo Signore, e non essere come l'Uomo del pesce, quando, invocò il suo Signore ed era pieno d'angoscia.
Spanish
Tú sé perseverante en el cumplimiento del mandamiento de u Señor, y no seas como el Hombre del Pez cuando invocó a su Señor y estaba angustiado.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
پس تو اپنے رب کے حکم پر قائم رہ اور مچھلی[1] والے کی طرح نہ بن۔ جب اس نے اپنے رب کو پکارا اور وہ غم سے بھرا ہوا تھا۔
مراد یہ ہے کہ حضرت یونسؑ کی طرح مت بن۔ یعنی قوم کا فیصلہ جلدنہ طلب کر۔ اللہ تعالیٰ وقت آنے پر خود فیصلہ کرے گا۔

Commentary:
The Holy Prophet is here comforted not to lose patience or give way to disappointment just because his people do not believe in him and oppose him. The time was fast approaching when they will listen, and give their allegiance, to him.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
پس اپنے رب کا فیصلہ صادر ہونے تک صبر کرو اور مچھلی والے (یونس علیہ اسلام) کی طرح نہ ہو جاؤ، جب اُس نے پکارا تھا اور وہ غم سے بھرا ہوا تھا
English - Sahih
Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.

پھر آپ اپنے رب کے حکم کا انتظار کریں اور مچھلی والے جیسے نہ ہوجائیں جب کہ اس نے اپنے رب کو پکارا اور وہ بہت ہی غمگین تھا

مراد یہ ہے کہ حضرت یونسؑ کی طرح مت بن۔ یعنی قوم کا فیصلہ جلدنہ طلب کر۔ اللہ تعالیٰ وقت آنے پر خود فیصلہ کرے گا۔

So be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord, and be not as the Man of the Fish, when he called, choking inwardly.
