وَاِذۡ اَخَذۡنَا مِیۡثٰقَکُمۡ لَا تَسۡفِکُوۡنَ دِمَآءَکُمۡ وَلَا تُخۡرِجُوۡنَ اَنۡفُسَکُمۡ مِّنۡ دِیٰرِکُمۡ ثُمَّ اَقۡرَرۡتُمۡ وَاَنۡتُمۡ تَشۡہَدُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And remember the time when We took a covenant from you: ‘You shall not shed your blood or turn your people out of your homes;’ then you confirmed it; and you have been witness to it.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب ہم نے تمہارا میثاق لیا کہ تم (آپس میں) اپنا خون نہیں بہاﺅ گے اور اپنے ہی لوگوں کو اپنی آبادیوں سے نہیں نکالو گے اس پر تم نے اقرار کیا اور تم اس کے گوا ہ تھے۔

French

Et souvenez-vous quand Nous avons fait un pacte avec vous : « Vous ne devez point verser votre sang, ni chasser vos frères de vos demeures. » Ensuite, vous avez confirmé ce pacte, et vous en avez été témoins.

Und (gedenket der Zeit) da Wir einen Bund schlossen mit euch: "Ihr sollt nicht das Blut der Eurigen vergießen oder sie austreiben aus euren Häusern"; damals bekräftigtet ihr (es); und ihr habt es selber bezeugt.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور (اس وقت کو بھی یاد کرو) جب ہم نے تم سے عہد لیا تھا کہ تم (آپس میں) اپنے خون[2] نہ بہاؤ گے اور اپنے آپ کو (یعنی اپنی قوم کے لوگوں کو) اپنے گھروں سے نہ نکالو گے اور تم نے (اس کا) اقرار کر لیا تھا اور تم (اس عہد کے متعلق ہمیشہ) گواہی دیتے رہے ہو[3]۔

لَا تَسۡفِکُوۡنَ دِمَآءَکُمۡ یعنی بعض یہودی قبیلے دوسرے یہودی قبلیوں کو نقصان نہ پہنچائیں گے۔ عہد کی تفصیل کے لئے دیکھئے خروج باب ۲۰۔ ۲۱

English - Short Commentary Translation

And remember when We took a covenant from you: ‘You shall not shed each other’s blood nor turn your people out of your homes,’[117] then you confirmed it; and you have been witness to it.

The reference may be to the covenant between the Holy Prophet and the Jews of Medina by which both sides undertook to help each other against a common enemy and all disputes were to be referred to the Holy Prophet for decision (Muir’s 'Life of Mahomet' & 'Sirat' by Mirza Bashir Ahmad, M.A.).

And remember the time when We took a covenant from you: ‘You shall not shed your blood or turn your people out of your homes’; then you confirmed it; and you have been witness to it.[91]

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

پھر ذرا یاد کرو، ہم نے تم سے مضبوط عہد لیا تھا کہ آپس میں ایک دوسرے کا خون نہ بہانا اور نہ ایک دوسرے کو گھر سے بے گھر کرنا تم نے اس کا اقرار کیا تھا، تم خود اس پر گواہ ہو

English - Sahih

And [recall] when We took your covenant, [saying], "Do not shed each other's blood or evict one another from your homes." Then you acknowledged [this] while you were witnessing.

اور جب ہم نے تم سے عہد لیا کہ آپس میں خونریزی نہ کرنا اور نہ اپنے لوگوں کو جلا وطن کرنا پھر تم نے اقرار کیا اور تم خود گواہ ہو
