Commentary:
The verse means to say that it is when the Faithful show firmness under severe hardships and priv-ations, and hold on through fiery ordeals, quite willing to suffer every disgrace in the way of God, fully submitting themselves to His will, that they attain to that stage of nearness to Him in which they become, as it were, the guests of God, for whose smallest need He has the greatest regard.
