اِنَّ لَکَ فِی النَّہَارِ سَبۡحًا طَوِیۡلًا
这节经文里指的是穆圣的多种多样的职责, 那是穆圣乐意完成的, 并从中得到很大的乐趣。这就是 سَبْحاً (Sabhan) 这个字的意思。(Lane)
یعنی رات کی عبادت کا ہم نے اس لئے حکم دیا ہے کہ دن میں لوگ ملتے رہتے ہیں اور اپنی دنیوی حاجات پیش کرتے رہتے ہیں یا دینی مسائل پوچھتے رہتے ہیں۔ یہاں سَبْحًا کا لفظ استعمال کیا گیا ہے جس کے معنے تیرنے کے ہوتے ہیں۔ پس دور تک تیرنے کے الفاظ بتاتے ہیں کہ اس جگہ علم دین پھیلانے کا ذکر ہے کیونکہ علم دین خاص طور پر محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو حاصل ہوا تھا۔ اور اس کی اشاعت کے لئے آپ رات دن لگے رہتے تھے اور قرآن کریم آپ کے دل میں داخل ہو گیا تھا کہ ہر مسئلہ کو آپ آسانی کے ساتھ بیان کر سکتے تھے۔
Reference in the verse is to the multifarious duties of the Holy Prophet which he performed with alacrity and in doing which he took great pleasure; this being the significance of the word Sabhan (Lane).

سبحاً (long chain of engagements) is derived from سبح. They say سبح فی الماء i.e. he swam in the water and took pleasure in it. سبح فی الارض means, he went far into the land. سبح فی حوائجه means, he busied himself in the accomplishment of his needs. سبح(sabhun) also signifies the running of a horse in which the forelegs are stretched forth well as are the arms of a man in swimming; being quick or swift (Lane & Aqrab).
Commentary:
The reference in the verse is to the multifarious duties of the Holy Prophet which he performed with alacrity and took pleasure in doing them. As Head of a newly-established Republic, surrounded on all sides by bitter foes and beset with the plots and machinations of internal enemies, and as a Divine teacher and Reformer who had to prepare a community, which was unacquainted with even the rudiments of knowledge, to become the leaders of nations in civilization and culture, the Prophet’s task was indeed very difficult, which can better be imagined than described, but which he performed with a success which has baffled the world.

وَالسّٰبِحٰتِ سَبۡحًا
یعنی صحابہؓ کی جماعتیں جو تبلیغ اسلام کے لئے ملک در ملک پھرتی تھیں۔
Sabihat means, (1) those beings or groups of people who go far into the country in the pursuit of their quest. (2) Who try to excel one another in carrying out their mission (Lane).
