غصة (choking) is derived from غص. They say غص بالغیظ i.e. he was or became choked with wrath. غص المجلس بأھله means, the sitting place became choked with people. غص also means, he became grieved or disquieted in mind. غصة means, a thing by which one is choked; choking wrath or rage; grief or disquietude of mind (Lane & Aqrab).
