۞ وَقَیَّضۡنَا لَہُمۡ قُرَنَآءَ فَزَیَّنُوۡا لَہُمۡ مَّا بَیۡنَ اَیۡدِیۡہِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَہُمۡ وَحَقَّ عَلَیۡہِمُ الۡقَوۡلُ فِیۡۤ اُمَمٍ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ مِّنَ الۡجِنِّ وَالۡاِنۡسِ ۖ اِنَّہُمۡ کَانُوۡا خٰسِرِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And We had assigned for them companions who made to appear attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them; and the sentence became due against them along with the communities of Jinn and mankind that had gone before them. Surely, they were the losers.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور ہم نے اُن کے لئے بعض ساتھی مقرر کردیئے۔ پس انہوں نے اُن کے لئے اُسے خوب سجا کر پیش کیا جو اُن کے سامنے تھا یا اُن سے پہلے تھا۔ پس اُن پر وہی فرمان صادق آگیا جو اُن قوموں پر صادق آیا تھا جو اُن سے قبل جِن و اِنس میں سے گزر چکی تھیں۔ یقیناً وہ گھاٹا پانے والوں میں سے تھے۔

French

Et Nous avions désigné pour eux des compagnons, qui firent paraître attrayant à leurs yeux ce qui s’était déjà passé et ce qui les attendait à l’avenir, et la sentence devint due contre eux de même que contre les communautés des djinns – des gens considérés comme grands – et des gens ordinaires qui sont passées avant eux. Assurément, c’étaient eux les perdants.

German

Wir hatten Gefährten für sie bestimmt, die ihnen als wohlgefällig erscheinen ließen, was vor ihnen war und was hinter ihnen war: und (so) ward der Spruch fällig gegen sie zusammen mit den Scharen der Jinn und der Menschen, die vor ihnen hingegangen waren, Gewiss, sie waren Verlorene.

我已为他们指定了同伴, 那些同伴为他们粉饰了[1187]他们前后的行为。正如关于[a]他们之前人类和精纳的民族中的命谕对现的那样, 关于他们的命谕也对现了。即他们都将是亏损的人。

E Noi avevamo assegnato loro compagni, che fecero apparire loro attraente ciò che era stato prima di loro e ciò che era davanti a loro, e il giudizio fu pronunciato contro di loro come era stato pronunciato contro i popoli che li precedettero appartenenti ai Ğinn* e gente comune. Per certo, erano loro i perdenti.

Y les asignamos compañeros que hicieron que les pareciera atractivo lo que había pasado ante ellos y lo que tenían delante de sí; y el juicio se dictó contra ellos de igual manera que se dictó respecto a os pueblos que les precedieron, pertenecientes a los Yinn - hombres grandes- o a los hombres comunes. En verdad ellos fueron los perdedores.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ہم نے ان کے ساتھ کچھ ایسے ہم نشین لگا دئیے جنہوں نے ان کے اعمال کو خوبصورت کرکے دکھایا۔ اور اُن کے اوپر وہی حکم جاری ہو گیا جو جنوں اور انسانوں میں سے ان سے پہلے گذری ہوئی قوموں پر جاری ہوا تھا (یعنی یہ) کہ وہ گھاٹا پانے والوں میں سے ہو جائیں گے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And We had assigned to them companions who made to appear attractive[2632] to them what was before them and what was behind them of their deeds, and the same sentence was proved true concerning them as had proved true concerning the communities of jinn and men [b]that had gone before them. Surely, they were the losers.

3:138; 7:39; 13:31; 46:19.

The evil companions of disbelievers admired and praised their evil acts so as to make those acts appear commendable to them. These evil associates will be made to share the punishment with those whom they beguiled and deceived. The words, 'what was before them and what was behind them,' may mean, the deeds which they did in consequence of association with their bad companions and those they did in imitation of the bad deeds of their forefathers.

English - Five Volume Translation

And We had assigned to them companions who made to appear attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them; and the sentence became due against them along with the communities of Jinn and mankind [a]that had gone before them. Surely, they were the losers.[3577]

Commentary:

The words, who made to appear attractive to them, signify that the evil companions of disbelievers admired and praised their evil acts so as to make those acts appear commendable to them. These evil associates, the verse says, will be made to share the punishment with those whom they beguiled and deceived.

The words, "what was before them and what was behind them," may mean, the deeds which they did in consequence of association with their bad companions and those they did in imitation of the bad deeds of their forefathers.

ہم نے ان پر ایسے ساتھی مسلط کر دیے تھے جو انہیں آگے اور پیچھے ہر چیز خوشنما بنا کر دکھاتے تھے، آخر کار اُن پر بھی وہی فیصلہ عذاب چسپاں ہو کر رہا جو ان سے پہلے گزرے ہوئے جنوں اور انسانوں کے گروہوں پر چسپاں ہو چکا تھا، یقیناً وہ خسارے میں رہ جانے والے تھے

English - Sahih

And We appointed for them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

اورہم نے ان کے لیے کچھ ہمنشین مقرر کر دیئے پس انہوں نے ان کو وہ (برے کام) اچھے کر دکھائے جو پہلے کر چکے تھے اورجو پیچھے کریں گے اور ان پر حکم الہیٰ ثابت ہو چکا تھاپہلی امتوں کے ضمن میں جو ان سے پہلے جنوں اور انسانوں میں سے گزر چکی تھیں بے شک وہ نقصان اٹھانے والے تھے

We have allotted them comrades, and they have decked out fair to them that which is before them and behind them. So against them has been realized the Word concerning nations that passed away before them, men and jinn alike; surely they were losers.

We had assigned to them companions who embellished for them all that was before them and behind them. Thus the same decree (of chastisement) which had overtaken the previous generations of jinn and human beings (also) became due against them. Surely they became the losers.

We had assigned to them close companions who made their past and present look attractive to them; and the fate that had once befallen the communities of jinns and men before them was justified upon them. They were indeed bound to perish.
