يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚ إِنِ ٱتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِٱلْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ ٱلَّذِى فِى قَلْبِهِۦ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women if you are righteous. So be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should feel tempted; and speak a decent speech.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اے نبی کی بیویو! تم ہرگز عام عورتوں جیسی نہیں ہو بشرطیکہ تم تقویٰ اختیار کرو۔ پس بات لجا کر نہ کیا کرو ورنہ وہ شخص جس کے دل میں مرض ہے طمع کرنے لگے گا۔ اور اچھی بات کہا کرو۔

Ô épouses du Prophète ! Vous n’êtes nullement comme des femmes ordinaires, pourvu que vous soyez pieuses. Alors ne parlez pas d’une voix basse et engageante, afin que celui dans le cœur de qui est une maladie, ne se sente pas tenté ; et prononcez des paroles décentes.

O Frauen des Propheten, ihr seid nicht wie andere Frauen! Wenn ihr rechtschaffen seid, dann seid nicht geziert im Reden, damit nicht der, in dessen Herzen Krankheit ist, Erwartungen hege, sondern redet in geziemenden Worten.

先知的妻子们啊! 如果你们敬畏安拉, 那你们与一般妇女是不同的。你们不要讲温存的话,[1031]免得心中有病的人产生恶的意念。要 (对人们) 说合乎通常礼仪的言语。

在这里嘱咐穆圣的妻子们要保持他们十分高贵地位的尊严而在同异性成员谈话时要举止稳重, 仪态端庄。所有穆斯林妇女都包括在内应执行这项训令。

O mogli del profeta! Voi non siete come le altre donne, se siete giuste. Non siate dunque leziose nel parlare, perché colui che ha il cuore malato non cada in tentazione; e parlate in modo dignitoso.

¡Oh, esposas del Profeta! sois distintas a otras mujeres a condición de que seáis justas. No seáis pues demasiado blandas en vuestras palabras, para que no se sienta tentado quien tenga el corazón enfermo; y hablad con palabras pudorosas.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اے نبی کی بیویو! اگر تم اپنے مقام کو سمجھو تو تم عام عورتوں کی طرح نہیں ہو۔ پس چبا کر (یعنی نازونخرے کے ساتھ) بات نہ کیا کرو۔ تا ایسا نہ ہو کہ جس کے دل میں مرض ہے وہ تمہارے متعلق کوئی بدارادہ کرے اور ہمیشہ لوگوں کو نیک باتیں کہا کرو۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other women if you are righteous. So be not soft in speech,[2352] lest he, in whose heart is a disease, should feel tempted; and speak decent words.

The wives of the Holy Prophet are here enjoined to maintain the dignity of their very exalted position and to conduct themselves with due propriety and decorum while talking to members of the opposite sex. All Muslim women are included in this injunction.

English - Five Volume Translation

O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other women if you are righteous. So be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should feel tempted; and speak a decent speech.[3099]

Commentary:

The wives of the Holy Prophet are here enjoined to preserve the dignity of their very exalted position and to conduct themselves with due propriety and decorum while talking to members of the opposite sex.

By implication all Muslim women are included in this injunction. They are expected to be kind and gentle in speech but their gentleness should not be misunderstood by any evilly-inclined person for pliancy and softness.

نبیؐ کی بیویو، تم عام عورتوں کی طرح نہیں ہو اگر تم اللہ سے ڈرنے والی ہو تو دبی زبان سے بات نہ کیا کرو کہ دل کی خرابی کا مُبتلا کوئی شخص لالچ میں پڑ جائے، بلکہ صاف سیدھی بات کرو

O wives of the Prophet, you are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allah, then do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech.

اے نبی کی بیویو تم معمولی عورتوں کی طرح نہیں ہو اگر تم الله سے ڈرتی ر ہو اور دبی زبان سے بات نہ کہو کیونکہ جس کے دل میں مرض ہے وہ طمع کرے گا اور بات معقول کہو
