رَفِیۡعُ الدَّرَجٰتِ ذُو الۡعَرۡشِ یُلۡقِی الرُّوۡحَ مِنۡ اَمۡرِہٖ عَلٰی مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِہٖ لِیُنۡذِرَ یَوۡمَ التَّلَاقِ

He is of most exalted attributes, Lord of the Throne. He sends the Word by His command to whomsoever of His servants He pleases, that He may give warning of the Day of Meeting,

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

وہ بلند درجات والا صاحبِ عرش ہے۔ اپنے بندوں میں سے جس پر چاہے اپنے امر سے روح کو اُتارتا ہے تاکہ وہ ملاقات کے دن سے ڈرائے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(وہ) اونچے درجوں والا (ہے) عرش کا مالک ہے اور اپنے حکم سے اپنے بندوں میں سے جس پر چاہتا ہے اپنا کلام نازل کرتا ہے تا کہ وہ (بندہ خدا کی) ملاقات کے دن سے لوگوں کو ڈرائے۔

The expression. Dhul-‘Arsh (Lord of the Throne), is like Dhur-Rahmah (Lord of Mercy) and refutes the popular wrong notion that ‘Arsh is something material.

Commentary:

In this verse God has been described as ذوالعرش which literally meaning, "Possessor or Owner of the Throne," has been translated as Lord of the Throne for want of a better word. Elsewhere (23:87, 117) God has been described as رب العرش i.e. Lord of the Throne. عرش (Throne) as mentioned above (v. 8) signifies Divine attributes. The construction ذوالعرش (Lord of the Throne) is like ذو الرحمة i.e. Lord of mercy (18:59) and thus refutes the popular wrong notion that عرش is something physical. For الروح (Word) see 4:172 and16:3.

وہ بلند درجوں والا، مالک عرش ہے اپنے بندوں میں سے جس پر چاہتا ہے اپنے حکم سے روح نازل کر دیتا ہے تاکہ وہ ملاقات کے دن سے خبردار کر دے

English - Sahih

[He is] the Exalted above [all] degrees, Owner of the Throne; He places the inspiration of His command upon whom He wills of His servants to warn of the Day of Meeting.
