۞ وَاَقۡسَمُوۡا بِاللّٰہِ جَہۡدَ اَیۡمٰنِہِمۡ لَئِنۡ اَمَرۡتَہُمۡ لَیَخۡرُجُنَّ ۖ قُل لَّا تُقۡسِمُوۡا ۖ طَاعَۃٌ مَّعۡرُوۡفَۃٌ ۚ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ خَبِیۡرٌۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that, if thou command them, they will surely go forth. Say, ‘Swear not; what is required is actual obedience in what is right. Surely, Allah is well aware of what you do.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور انہوں نے اللہ کی پختہ قسمیں کھائیں کہ اگر تُو انہیں حکم دے تو وہ ضرور نکل کھڑے ہوں گے۔ تُو کہہ دے کہ قسمیں نہ کھاؤ۔ دستور کے مطابق اطاعت (کرو)۔ یقیناً اللہ جو تم کرتے ہو اس سے ہمیشہ باخبر رہتا ہے۔

French

Et ils jurent par Allāh des serments les plus solennels que si tu le leur commandes, ils sortiront assurément. Dis : « Ne jurez pas ; la manière d’agir c’est l’obéissance en ce qui est juste. Assurément, Allāh est très conscient de ce que vous faites. »

German

Sie schwören bei Allah ihre feierlichsten Eide, sie würden, wenn du es ihnen befiehlst, gewisslich ausziehen. Sprich: "Schwört nicht! Geziemender Gehorsam!" Wahrlich, Allah ist wohl kundig dessen, was ihr tut.

他们凭着安拉立下坚决的誓言: 如果你命令他们, 他们必定马上出去。你 (对他们) 说: “你们不要发誓, [b]要正常的服从。安拉的确知悉你们的行为。”

Juran por Al‑lah con sus juramentos más enérgicos que, si se lo rdenas, ciertamente marcharán. Diles: "No juréis; lo que se precisa es la obediencia real en lo que es recto. En verdad, Al‑lah es perfectamente Consciente de lo que hacéis".

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور وہ لوگ اللہ کی پکی قسمیں کھاتے ہیں کہ اگر تو ان کو حکم دے تو وہ فوراً گھروں سے نکل کھڑے ہوں گے۔ کہو قسمیں نہ کھاؤ۔ ہمارا حکم تو تمہیں صرف ایسی اطاعت کا ہے جو عرف عام میں اطاعت سمجھی جاتی ہے اللہ اس سے جو تم کرتے ہو‘ یقیناً خبردار ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that, if thou command them, they will surely go forth. Say, ‘Swear not; what is required of you is [b]obedience to what is right. Surely, Allah is Aware of what you do.’

Important Words:

جھد أیمانھم (their strongest oaths). جھد means, he strove or laboured; he exerted himself; he employed himself vigorously or with energy; he took extraordinary pains. جھد فی الامر means, he did his utmost or used his utmost power in prosecuting the affair. جھد (jahdun) means, utmost power or ability or extraordinary painstaking, etc. جھد أیمانھم means, the most solemn; strongest or most forcible or energetic oaths (Lane & Aqrab).

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

یہ (منافق) اللہ کے نام سے کڑی کڑی قسمیں کھا کر کہتے ہیں کہ "آپ حکم دیں تو ہم گھروں سے نکل کھڑے ہوں" اِن سے کہو "قسمیں نہ کھاؤ، تمہاری اطاعت کا حال معلوم ہے، تمہارے کرتوتوں سے اللہ بے خبر نہیں ہے"

English - Sahih

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if you ordered them, they would go forth [in Allah 's cause]. Say, "Do not swear. [Such] obedience is known. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with that which you do."

اور الله کی پکی قسمیں کھا کر کہتے ہیں کہ اگر آپ انہیں حکم دیں تو سب کچھ چھوڑ کر نکل جائیں کہہ دو قسمیں نہ کھاؤ دستور کے موافق فرمانبرداری چاہیئے بے شک الله جانتا ہے جو تم کرتے ہو

And they swear by Allah strong their oaths that if you ordered them, surely they (would) go forth. Say, "(Do) not swear. Obedience (is) known. Indeed, Allah (is) All-Aware of what you do."

English - Arberry

They have sworn by God the most earnest oaths, if thou commandest them they will go forth. Say: 'Do not swear; honourable obedience is sufficient. Surely God is aware of the things you do.'

They (the hypocrites) solemnly swear by Allah and say, "If you order us, we will leave our homes." Say to them, "Do not swear oaths for your `obedience' is well known; Allah is fully aware of what you are doing. "

They swear solemnly by God: "If you command us we shall go forth." Say: "Do not swear. What is wanted is obedience, as should be. God is certainly aware of what you do."
