English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Say, ‘Flight shall not avail you if you flee from death or slaughter; and even then you will enjoy but a little.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
تُو کہہ دے کہ تمہیں بھاگنا ہرگز فائدہ نہیں دے گا اگر تم موت یا قتل سے بھاگو گے۔ اور اس صورت میں تم کچھ فائدہ نہیں دیئے جاؤ گے مگر تھوڑا سا۔

Dis : « La fuite ne vous profitera aucunement si vous fuyez la mort ou le massacre, et même alors on ne vous fera jouir des bénéfices que pour peu de temps. »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
تو ان سے کہہ دے کہ اگر تم موت یا قتل سے بھاگو گے تو تمہارا بھاگنا تمہیں ہر گز نفع نہیں دے گا اور اس صورت میں تم کوئی فائدہ [3]نہیں اٹھاؤ گے۔
یعنی اگر تم بھاگو گے تو یا تو کفار تمہیں قتل کر دیں گے یا خداتعالیٰ اسلام کو پھر جلد غلبہ دے دے گا اور مسلمان تمہیں سزا دیں گے جیسا کہ اگلی آیت سے ظاہر ہے۔

Commentary:
The fact that both the accomplices are equal partners in a crime and, therefore, are equal sharers in punishment, can be of no use or benefit to either of them because it lessens neither their individual responsibility nor the punishment which each of them incurs and suffers.

اُس وقت اِن لوگوں سے کہا جائے گا کہ جب تم ظلم کر چکے تو آج یہ بات تمہارے لیے کچھ بھی نافع نہیں ہے کہ تم اور تمہارے شیاطین عذاب میں مشترک ہیں
