وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهْ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, ‘O would that I had not been given my record!
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور وہ جسے اُس کی بائیں طرف سے اُس کا اعمال نامہ دیا جائے گا، تو وہ کہے گا اے کاش! مجھے میرا اعمال نامہ نہ دیا جاتا۔
French
Mais quant à celui à qui son dossier sera remis en sa main gauche, il dira : « Hélas ! Si seulement mon dossier ne m’eût pas été donné !

[e]But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, ‘O! would that I had not been given my record![4358]
56:42-43; 84:11-13.
Commentary:
To be given one’s record in one’s left hand, in Quranic terminology represents failure in a test. Elsewhere in the Quran (56:42) the guilty have been described as "fellows of the left hand."

اور جس کا نامہ اعمال اُس کے بائیں ہاتھ میں دیا جائے گا وہ کہے گا "کاش میرا اعمال نامہ مجھے نہ دیا گیا ہوتا
