إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لِلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Verily, We have revealed to thee the Book with truth for the good of mankind. So whoever follows guidance, follows it for the benefit of his own soul; and whoever goes astray, goes astray only to its detriment. And thou art not a guardian over them.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یقیناً ہم نے تجھ پر لوگوں کے فائدہ کے لئے حق کے ساتھ کتاب اتاری ہے۔ پس جو کوئی ہدایت پاتا ہے تو اپنے ہی نفس کے مفاد کے لئے ہدایت پاتا ہے اور جو کوئی گمراہ ہوتا ہے تو اس (نفس) کے خلاف گمراہ ہوتا ہے۔اور تُو ان پر داروغہ نہیں ہے۔

French

En vérité, Nous t’avons révélé le Livre renfermant la vérité pourle bien de l’humanité. Quiconque suit la direction, la suit pour le bien de sa propre âme ; et quiconque s’égare, ne s’égare qu’à son propre détriment. Et tu n’es pas responsable d’eux.

German

Wahrlich, Wir haben dir das Buch mit der Wahrheit hinabgesandt zum Heil der Menschheit. Wer rechtgeleitet ist, der ist es zu seinem eigenen Besten; und wer irregeht, der geht irre zu seinem Schaden. Und du bist nicht Wächter über sie.

毫无疑义地, 我为了人类 (的幸福) 已降示你包容 (一切) 真理的经典。[e]凡是遵循正道的人, 他是为了自己 (的益处而遵循正道)。凡是入于歧途的人, 他的入于歧途只有损于自己。[1139]你不是他们的监护人。

人类本身是自己命运--------好的或坏的--------的建造者。

Italian

In verità, Noi ti abbiamo rivelato il libro contenente la verità, per il bene dell'umanità. Per cui, chiunque segua la guida, la segue per il bene della propria anima; e chiunque fuorvii, lo fa solo a proprio detrimento. E tu non sei il loro custode.

Spanish

En verdad, te hemos revelado el Libro con la verdad para elbien de los hombres. Así pues, quien sigue la guía, la sigue a favor de su propia alma; y quien se extravía, se extravía únicamente en su perjuicio. Mas tú no eres su guardián.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

ہم نے تجھ پر (یہ) کتاب یقیناً لوگوں کے فائدہ کے لئے حق اور حکمت کے ساتھ اتاری ہے سو جس نے ہدایت پالی اس کا نفع اسی کی جان کو حاصل ہوگا اور جو گمراہ ہو گیا اس کی گمراہی اسی پر پڑے گی اور تو اُن پر کارساز کے طور پر مقرر نہیں کیا گیا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Verily, We have revealed to thee the Book comprising all truth for the good of mankind. [b]So whoever follows guidance, follows it for the benefit of his own soul; and whoever goes astray, goes astray only to its detriment.[2579] And thou art not a guardian over them.

Man himself is the architect of his destiny—good or bad.

Commentary:

This verse like many other verses of the Quran shows that man himself is the architect of his destiny—good or bad.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(اے نبیؐ) ہم نے سب انسانوں کے لیے یہ کتاب برحق تم پر نازل کر دی ہے اب جو سیدھا راستہ اختیار کرے گا اپنے لیے کرے گا اور جو بھٹکے گا اُس کے بھٹکنے کا وبال اُسی پر ہوگا، تم اُن کے ذمہ دار نہیں ہو

English - Sahih

Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided - it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager over them.

بے شک ہم نے آپ پر یہ کتاب سچی لوگو ں کے لیے اتاری ہے پھر جو راہ پر آیا سو اپنے لیے اور جو گمراہ ہوا سو وہ گمراہ ہوتا ہے اپنے برے کو اور آپ ان کے ذمہ دار نہیں ہیں

Indeed We, We revealed to you the Book for [the] mankind in truth. So whoever accepts guidance, then (it is) for his soul; and whoever goes astray then only he strays against his (soul). And not you (are) over them a manager.

English - Arberry

Surely We have sent down upon thee the Book for mankind with the truth. Whosoever is guided, is only guided to his own gain, and whosoever goes astray, it is only to his own loss; thou art not a guardian over them.

English - Maududi

(O Prophet), We revealed to you the Book with the Truth for all mankind. So he who follows the Right Way does so to his own benefit, and he who goes astray, shall hurt only himself by straying. You are not accountable on their behalf.

We have Sent down this Book to you with the truth for all mankind. So, he who comes to guidance does so for himself, and he who goes astray does so for his own loss; on you does not lie their guardianship.

Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for (instructing) mankind. He, then, that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.
