But they rejected him and hamstrung her, so their Lord destroyed them completely because of their sin, and made it (destruction) overtake all of them alike.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
پھر بھی انہوں نے اُسے جھٹلا دیا اور اُس (اونٹنی) کی کونچیں کاٹ ڈالیں۔ تب اُن کے گناہ کے سبب اُن کے ربّ نے اُن پر پَے بہ پَے ضربیں لگائیں اور اس (بستی) کو ہموار کردیا۔
French
Mais quant au Messager, ils le rejetèrent et quant à la chamelle, ils lui coupèrent les jarrets. Alors leur Seigneur les anéantit complètement à cause de leur péché ; et quant à leur localité, Il la rasa.

لیکن انہوں نے اس (نبی) کی بات نہ مانی بلکہ اس کو جھٹلا دیا اور (وہ) اونٹنی (جس سے بچتے رہنے کا انہیں حکم دیا گیا تھا اس) کی کونچیں کاٹ دیں جس کی وجہ سے اللہ نے ان کو خاک میں ملانے کا فیصلہ کر دیا اور ایسی تدبیریں کیں کہ اسی طرح ہو بھی گیا۔

But they recced him and hamstrung her, so their Lord destroyed them completely because of their sin, and made it (destruction) overtake all of them alike.[4748]
Important Words:
دمدم علیھم (destroyed them completely). They say دمدم فلان علی فلان i.e. such a one spoke to such a one in anger. دمدم علیه means, he destroyed or crushed him completely or punished him thoroughly. دمدم علیھم ربھم means, their Lord crushed them, punished them and destroyed them completely; or made the earth to quake with them or was angry with them (Lane & Aqrab).

مگر انہوں نے اُس کی بات کو جھوٹا قرار دیا اور اونٹنی کو مار ڈالا آخرکار اُن کے گناہ کی پاداش میں ان کے رب نے ان پر ایسی آفت توڑی کہ ایک ساتھ سب کو پیوند خاک کر دیا

But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].
