وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And Messengers have indeed been mocked at before thee, but that whereat they mocked encompassed those of them who scoffed.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور رسولوں سے تجھ سے پہلے بھی تمسخر کیا گیا۔ پس اُن کو جنہوں نے ان (رسولوں) سے تمسخر کیا انہی باتوں نے گھیر لیا جن سے وہ تمسخر کیا کرتے تھے۔

Et en vérité des Messagers avant toi ont été raillés, mais ce dont ils se moquaient a cerné les railleurs d’entre eux.

Es sind fürwahr schon vor dir Gesandte verspottet worden, dann aber traf jene, die gehöhnt, das, worüber sie spotteten.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور تجھ سے پہلے جو رسول گذرے ہیں ان سے بھی ہنسی کی گئی تھی‘ لیکن نتیجہ یہ ہوا کہ جنہوں نے ان رسولوں سے ہنسی کی تھی ان کو انہی باتوں نے آکر گھیر لیا جن کے ذریعہ سے وہ نبیوں کی ہنسی اڑاتے تھے۔

[b]And Messengers have indeed been mocked at before thee, but that [c]whereat they mocked encompassed those of them who scoffed.[2382]

Commentary:

The verse makes mention of two things which never fail to occur when a Prophet preaches his message: (a) the message is held up to scorn and the Prophet himself is mocked and jeered at; and (b) the jeering and mocking of the scoffers always recoils on their own heads and they themselves become the laughing-stock of the world.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

مذاق تم سے پہلے بھی رسُولوں کا اڑایا جا چکا ہے، مگر اُن کا مذاق اڑانے والے اُسی چیز کے پھیر میں آ کر رہے جس کا وہ مذاق اڑاتے تھے

English - Sahih

And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

اور تجھ سے پہلے بھی رسولوں کے ساتھ ٹھٹھا کیا گیا ہے پھر جس عذاب کی بابت وہ ہنسی کیا کرتے تھے ان ٹھٹھا کرنے والوں پر وہی آ پڑا
