قَالُوا۟ فَأْتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They said, ‘Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے کہا پس اُسے لوگوں کی نظروں کے سامنے لے آؤ تا کہ وہ دیکھ لیں۔

French

Ils dirent : « Alors amenez-le devant les yeux des gens pour qu’ils puissent témoigner. »

German

Sie sprachen: "So bringt ihn vor die Augen des Volkes, damit sie urteilen."

Chinese

他们 (族中的领袖) 说: “(如果是这样的,) 那么, 把他带到众人面前, 以便他们作证 (反对他)。”

Essi dissero: «Conducetelo alla presenza del popolo, affinché porti testimonianza contro di lui.»

Dijeron: “Traedlo a la presencia de la gente, para que sean testigos”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(تب قوم کے سرداروں نے) کہا (اگر بات یوں ہے تو) اس شخص کو سب لوگوں کے سامنے لاؤ شاید وہ (اس کے متعلق) کوئی فیصلہ کریں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

They said, ‘Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness against him.’[1899]

The reason why Abraham was summoned before the public was either that those, who had heard him speak ill of the idols, should bear witness against him, or that having listened to the evidence against him might decide what punishment should be meted out to him and that they should witness the punishment that was to be inflicted on him.

English - Five Volume Translation

They said, ‘Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness.’[2398]

Commentary:

The reason why Abraham was summoned to appear in public was either that those who had heard him speak ill of the idols should bear witness against him that he had broken the idols, or that after listening to the evidence against Abraham they might decide what punishment should be meted out to him. Or the reason might be that all people should witness the punishment that was to be inflicted on him. This is the significance of the words "that they may bear witness."

انہوں نے کہا "تو پکڑ لاؤ اُسے سب کے سامنے تاکہ لوگ دیکھ لیں (اُس کی کیسی خبر لی جاتی ہے)"

They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify."
