29:48

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَمِنْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And in like manner have We sent down the Book to thee, so those to whom We have given true knowledge of the Book believe in it (the Qur’an); and of these Meccans also there are some who believe in it. And none but the ungrateful deny Our Signs.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اِسی طرح ہم نے تیری طرف کتاب اتاری۔ پس وہ لوگ جن کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور اِن(اہلِ کتاب) میں سے بھی (ایسا گروہ) ہے جو اس پر ایمان لاتا ہے۔ اور ہماری آیات کا انکار کافروں کے سوا کوئی نہیں کرتا۔

French

Et c’est ainsi que Nous avons fait descendre le Livre sur toi ; ainsi ceux à qui Nous avons accordé une connaissance vraie du Livre, y croient. Et parmi ces gens-là de La Mecque aussi il y en a qui y croient. Et il n’y a que les ingrats qui nient Nos Signes.

German

Also haben Wir dir das Buch herniedergesandt, und so glauben die daran, denen Wir das Buch gegeben; und (auch) unter diesen* sind einige, die daran glauben. Es sind aber nur die Ungläubigen, die Unsere Zeichen leugnen.

我就这样对你下降了经典; [a]凡是蒙我赐了这部经典的人, 他们都信仰它, 那些 (具有 «摩西五经» 真正知识的) 人也都信仰它。只有不信的人才顽固地否认我的启示。

11:18.

Italian

E in modo analogo Noi ti abbiamo inviato il libro. Così, coloro ai quali Noi abbiamo concesso una vera conoscenza del libro, credono in esso (il Corano); e anche tra questi Meccani ve ne sono alcuni che ci credono. E nessuno, se non gli ingrati, rifiutano i Nostri segni.

De la misma manera te hemos revelado el Libro, para que aquellos a quienes hemos dado el conocimiento verdadero del Libro, crean en él (el Corán). Y también entre estos mequíes hay algunos que creen en él. Pues nadie, excepto los desagradecidos, niegan Nuestros Signos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور اسی طرح ہم نے تجھ پر یہ مکمل کتاب اتاری ہے پس وہ لوگ جن کو ہم نے یہ کتاب دی ہے وہ اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور ان لوگوں سے (یعنی اہل کتاب میں سے بھی) بعض اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور ہماری آیتوں کا ضد کے ساتھ انکار صرف کافر ہی کرتے ہیں۔[1]

کَافِر کے یہ معنے نہیں کہ مکہ والے لوگ‘ بلکہ کافر کا لفظ قرآن مجید میں اہل کتاب کے لئے بھی استعمال ہوا ہے۔ کافر کا صرف یہ مطلب ہے کہ انسان کسی صداقت کا انکار کرے۔ لازمی طور پر اس کے معنے مشرک کے نہیں (دیکھئے سورۃ بَیِّنَہ)

English - Short Commentary Translation

And in like manner have We sent down the Book to thee; [b]so those to whom We have given true knowledge of the Book (Torah) believe in it (the Qur’an); and of these Meccans also there are some who believe in it. And none but the disbelievers persist in rejecting Our Signs.

11:18.

And in like manner have We sent down the Book to thee, [a]so those to whom We have given true knowledge of the Book believe in it (the Quran); and of these people also there are some who believe in it. And none but the ungrateful deny Our Signs.[2972]

Commentary:

The expression "to whom We have given true knowledge of the Book," may refer to (1) the "People of the Book" as shown in the text, or (2) to the Arabs in whose tongue the Quran had been revealed, or (3) to Muslims who believe in the Quran as the revealed Book of God. The words "of these people" may refer either to the Meccans or to the People of the Book, preferably to the former.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(اے نبیؐ) ہم نے اِسی طرح تمہاری طرف کتاب نازل کی ہے، اس لیے وہ لوگ جن کو ہم نے پہلے کتاب دی تھی وہ اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، اور اِن لوگوں میں سے بھی بہت سے اس پر ایمان لا رہے ہیں، اور ہماری آیات کا انکار صرف کافر ہی کرتے ہیں

English - Sahih

And thus We have sent down to you the Qur'an. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers.

اور اسی طرح ہم نے تیری طرف کتاب نازل کی ہے پھر جنہیں ہم نے کتاب دی تھی وہ تو اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ان میں سے بھی کچھ لوگ اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ہماری آیتوں کا کافر ہی انکار کیا کرتے ہیں

And thus We (have) revealed to you the Book. So those We gave [them] the Book believe therein. And among these (are some) who believe therein. And none reject Our Verses except the disbelievers.

English - Arberry

Even so We have sent down to thee the Book. Those to whom We have given the Book believe in it; and some of these believe in it; and none denies Our signs but the unbelievers.

English - Maududi

(O Prophet), thus have We bestowed the Book on you. So those on whom We had bestowed the Book before believe in it, and of these (Arabs) too a good many believe in it. It is none but the utter unbelievers who deny Our Signs.

English - Ahmed Ali

That is how We have revealed this Book to you and those to whom We have sent down the Book will believe in it. Only those who are infidels will deny it.

English - Yusuf Ali

And thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan Arabs): and none but Unbelievers reject our signs.
