39:60

بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَآءَتْكَ ءَايَٰتِى فَكَذَّبْتَ بِهَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرْتَ وَكُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

God will answer, ‘Aye, there came to thee My Signs, but thou didst treat them as lies, and thou wast arrogant, and thou wast of the disbelievers.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

کیوں نہیں، یقیناً تیرے پاس میرے نشانات آئے اور تو نے ان کو جھٹلا دیا اور استکبار کیا اور تُو کافروں میں سے تھا۔

French

Allāh répondra : « Mais oui, Mes Signes sont venus à toi, mais tu les as traités de mensonges, et tu étais arrogant, et tu étais du nombre des mécréants. »

German

(Gott wird antworten:) "Nein; es kamen zu dir Meine Zeichen, aber du verwarfest sie, und du warst stolz und warst der Ungläubigen einer."

Chinese

(安拉将说:) 诚然, 我的迹象已来到你处, 但你把它们看作谎言。你原是骄傲自大的, 原是不信的。[1145]

安拉给予沉陷于罪恶中的人们许多悔过自新的机会。只有在他们蓄意并反复拒绝真理时, 只有在他们所犯的罪恶超出了应有的范围时, 清算日确确实实来到他们面前时, 他们才感到后悔莫及, 空自叹息。

Italian

Dio risponderà: «Ah sì! Ti erano giunti i Miei segni, ma tu li hai trattati come menzogne, e ti sei comportato da arrogante, e sei stato uno dei miscredenti.»

Spanish

Dios responderá: “Ay, te llegaron Mis Signos pero tú los trataste como mentiras, fuiste arrogante y perteneciste a los incrédulos”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(ایسا) ہرگز نہیں (ہوسکتا) بلکہ تیرے پاس ہمارے نشانات آچکے تھے پھر بھی تو نے ان کا انکار کیا اور تکبر سے پیش آیا اور کافروں میں شامل ہو گیا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

He will be told: ‘Aye, there came to thee My Signs, but thou didst treat them as lies, and thou wast arrogant, and thou wast of the disbelievers.’[2586]

Many chances are given to the man who is steeped in sin to repent and reform himself. It is when his rejection of Truth is deliberate and repeated, and when he exceeds all legitimate bounds in committing sin and transgression and when the day of reckoning is actually upon him that his sighs and regrets prove of no avail to him.

English - Five Volume Translation

God will answer, ‘Aye, there came to thee My Signs, but thou didst treat them as lies, and thou wast arrogant, and thou wast of the disbelievers.’[3479]

Commentary:

The verse means to say that many chances are given to the man who is steeped in sin to repent and reform himself. It is when his rejection of truth is deliberate and repeated, and he exceeds all legitimate bounds in committing sin and transgression and when the day of reckoning actually arrives, that his sighs and regrets prove of no avail to him.

(اور اُس وقت اسے یہ جواب ملے کہ) "کیوں نہیں، میری آیات تیرے پاس آ چکی تھیں، پھر تو نے انہیں جھٹلایا اور تکبر کیا اور تو کافروں میں سے تھا"

English - Sahih

But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers.

ہاں تیرے پاس میری آیتیں آ چکی تھیں سو تو نے انہیں جھٹلایا اور تو نے تکبر کیا اور تو منکروں میں سے تھا

'Yes indeed! My signs did come to thee, but thou hast cried them lies, and thou hast waxed proud, and become one of the unbelievers.'

Yes indeed! But My Signs came to you and you rejected them as lies, and waxed arrogant and were among those who disbelieved.

Why, My revelations had come to you, but you denied them and were filled with pride, and were among the disbelievers.

"(The reply will be:) 'Nay, but there came to thee my Signs, and thou didst reject them: thou wast Haughty, and became one of those who reject faith!'"
