For, he neither accepted the Truth[3186][c]nor observed Prayer;
74:44.
Saddaqa stands for right belief and Salla for good conduct, the two basic principles of Islam. Prayer is the essence of ‘Ibadah which is total submission and conforming one’s conduct to Divine laws. Thus the verse means that both the mind and the body of disbelievers rebelled against God.
