And when it is said unto them, ‘Bow down,’ they do not bow down.

اور جب ان سے یہ کہا جاتا تھا کہ جُھک جاؤ تو وہ جھکتے نہیں تھے۔

Et lorsqu’il leur est dit : « Inclinez-vous, » ils ne se s’inclinent pas.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
ان لوگوں پر جن سے جب کبھی کہا جاتا ہے کہ توحید پر قائم ہو جاؤ‘ تو وہ توحید پر قائم نہیں ہوتے (بلکہ شرک کی طرف لوٹ جاتے ہیں)

And when it is said unto them, ‘Bow down,’ they bow not down.

And when it is said unto them, ‘Bow down,’ they do not bow down.
Important Words:
لا یرکعون (do not bow down). رکع means, he bowed down. The word is sometimes used to denote humility and self-abasement. رکع الی الله means, he humbled himself to God; he completely turned towards God and worshipped Him alone. The famous pre-Islamic poet Nabighah says:
سیبلغ عذرا أو نجا من امرء
الی ربه رب البریة راکع
i.e. he who worships God alone, the Creator of the world, will have a good plea and will get salvation.
