فَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلْقَمَرَ بَازِغًا قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّى ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَ قَالَ لَئِن لَّمْ يَهْدِنِى رَبِّى لَأَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when he saw the moon rise with spreading light, he said: ‘This is my Lord.’ But when it set, he said, ‘If my Lord guide me not, I shall surely be of the people who go astray.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
پھر جب اس نے چاند کو چمکتے ہوئے دیکھا تو کہا (گویا) یہ میرا ربّ ہے۔ پس جب وہ (بھی) ڈوب گیا تو اس نے کہا اگر میرے ربّ نے مجھے ہدایت نہ دی ہوتی تو میں ضرور گمراہ لوگوں میں سے ہو جاتا۔
French
Et lorsqu’il vit la lune se lever et répandre sa lumière, il dit : « Voici mon Seigneur. » Mais lorsqu’elle se coucha, il dit : « Si mon Seigneur ne me guide pas, je serais assurément du nombre des gens égarés. »

Cuando vio a la luna levantarse con su clara luz, dijo: “éste es mi Señor”. Pero cuando se puso, dijo: “Si mi Señor no me guía me contaré ciertamente entre los hombres que se extravían”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
(اس کے بعد) جب اس نے چاند چمکتا ہوا دیکھا تو اس نے کہا (کیا) یہ میرا رب[1] (ہوسکتا) ہے؟ پھر جب وہ بھی غائب ہو گیا‘ تو اس نے کہا کہ اگر میرا رب مجھے ہدایت نہ دیتا تو میں ضرور گمراہوں کی جماعت میں سے ہوتا۔
درحقیقت مفہوم یہ ہے کہ ہر سیّارہ کو دیکھ کر ابراہیمؑ نے اس کے خدا ہونے سے انکار کیا۔ چنانچہ آیت میں صاف لکھا ہے کہ اگر خداتعالیٰ مجھے پہلے سے ہدایت نہ دیتا تو میں گمراہ ہو جاتا۔ پس اس آیت نے شرک کا خیال آنے کی بھی نفی کر دی ہے اور ثابت کر دیا ہے کہ ابراہیمؑ کا کلام طنزیہ کلام تھا۔

And when he saw the moon rise with spreading light, he said, ‘Can this be my Lord.’ But when it set, he said, ‘If my Lord guide me not, I shall surely be of the people who go astray.’

اردو ترجمہ مودودی
پھر جب چاند چمکتا نظر آیا تو کہا یہ ہے میرا رب مگر جب وہ بھی ڈوب گیا تو کہا اگر میرے رب نے میر ی رہنمائی نہ کی ہوتی تو میں بھی گمراہ لوگوں میں شامل ہو گیا ہوتا
English - Sahih
And when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."

درحقیقت مفہوم یہ ہے کہ ہر سیّارہ کو دیکھ کر ابراہیمؑ نے اس کے خدا ہونے سے انکار کیا۔ چنانچہ آیت میں صاف لکھا ہے کہ اگر خداتعالیٰ مجھے پہلے سے ہدایت نہ دیتا تو میں گمراہ ہو جاتا۔ پس اس آیت نے شرک کا خیال آنے کی بھی نفی کر دی ہے اور ثابت کر دیا ہے کہ ابراہیمؑ کا کلام طنزیہ کلام تھا۔
