وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَٰهُ مَلَكًا لَّجَعَلْنَٰهُ رَجُلًا وَلَلَبَسْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّا يَلْبِسُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And if We had appointed as Messenger an angel, We would have made him appear as a man; and thus We would have made confused to them what they are themselves confusing.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اگر ہم اُس (رسول) کو فرشتہ بناتے تو ہم اسے پھر بھی انسان (کی صورت میں) بناتے اور ہم ان پر وہ (معاملہ) مشتبہ رکھتے جسے وہ (اب) مشتبہ سمجھ رہے ہیں۔

Et si Nous l’avions fait - ce Messager - un ange, Nous l’aurions fait apparaître sous forme humaine ; et ainsi Nous les aurions mis dans la même confusion dans laquelle ils sont.

Und wenn Wir ihn (aus) einem Engel geschaffen hätten, hätten Wir ihn doch als Menschen geschaffen, und so hätten Wir ihnen das noch verwirrter gemacht, was sie selbst schon verwirren.

E se Noi avessimo incaricato un angelo come messaggero, lo avremmo fatto apparire come un uomo; e così avremmo fatto loro apparire confuso quello che invece essi stessi confondono.

Y si hubiésemos nombrado como Mensajero a un ángel, lo habríamos hecho aparecer como un hombre; y por tanto abríamos hecho confuso para ellos lo que ya están confundiendo ellos mismos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور (یہ بھی یاد رکھنا چاہیئے کہ) اگر ہم اس (پیامبر) کو فرشتوں میں سے تجویز کرتے تب بھی ہم اسے مرد کی شکل ہی دیتے اور ان کے اوپر پھر بھی وہ بات مشتبہ کر دیتے جسے اب وہ مشتبہ سمجھ رہے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And if We had appointed as Messenger an angel, We would have made him appear as a man; and thus We would have caused to be confused to them that which they are themselves confusing.[827]

The verse exposes the folly of the disbelievers’ demand that an angel should have come to guide them.

English - Five Volume Translation

And if We had appointed as Messenger an angel, We would have made him appear as a man; and thus We would have made confused to them that which they are themselves making confused.[757]

Commentary:

Another possible form of the appearance of an angel is that he be sent to this world as a Messenger. But this could not improve things; for in that case, to make his mission to mankind worth anything, he should appear in the form of a man; but if he were to appear to them in the form of a man, then the people would entertain the same doubts about

his heavenly mission as they were now doing about that of the Holy Prophet.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور اگر ہم فرشتے کو اتارتے تب بھی اسے انسانی شکل ہی میں اتارتے اور اس طرح انہیں اُسی شبہ میں مبتلا کر دیتے جس میں اب یہ مبتلا ہیں

English - Sahih

And if We had made him an angel, We would have made him [appear as] a man, and We would have covered them with that in which they cover themselves.

اور اگر ہم کسی کو فرشتہ کو رسول بنا کر بھیجتے تو وہ بھی آدمی ہی کی صورت میں ہوتا اور انہیں اسی میں شبہ میں ڈالے جس میں اب مبتلا ہیں
