[1] نَغَضَ , aor. نَغِضَ , (Ks, S, A, Msb, K,) and نَغُضَ , (S, A, K,) inf. n. نَغْضٌ (S, Msb, K) and نُغُوضٌ (S, K,) and نَغَضَانٌ and نَغَضٌ, (K,) It was or became, in a state of motion, commotion, agitation, or convulsion; it shook; shook about; wabbled; tottered; wagged; nodded; syn. تَحَرَّكَ, (S, A, Msb, K,) and اِضْطَرَبَ, (A, K,) فِى ٱرْتِجَافٍ; (TA;) as also ↓ انغض (Msb, K) and ↓ تنغّض: (K:) it is said of a man's head; (S, TA;) and also, (S, A,) with نَغْضٌ and نَغَضَانٌ for its inf. ns., (S,) of a camel's saddle, (S, A,) and of the central incisor (S, TA) of a child, (S,) or of any tooth, as also ↓ the last of the verbs above mentioned; (A;) and of other things; (Msb, TA;) نَغْضٌ signifying any moving in a shaking or tremulous or convulsive manner (فِى ٱرْتِجَافٍ); (S, TA;) and نَغَضَتْ and ↓ تَنَغَّضَتْ, said of a tooth, being syn. with رَجَفَتْ. (A.) ― 2-b2- Also, inf. n. نَغَضَانٌ, He, or it, was, or became, disquieted, agitated, or violently agitated. (TA.) ― 2-b3- نَغَضُوا إِلَى العَدُوِّ (tropical:) They rose and hastened and went forth to, or towards, the enemy. (A, TA.) ― 2-b4- نَغَضَ also signifies (assumed tropical:) It (a thing, TA) was, or became, dense: (so in some copies of the K) or much in quantity: (so in other copies of the K:) or much in quantity, and dense. (TA.) And (tropical:) It (a cloud) was, or became, dense, and then became ready to rain, and was seen to move about, one part into another, without its going along: (S:) or was seen to become ready to rain, without motion, not travel-ling along: (A:) or it travelled along. (IF.) [See نَاغِضٌ, below.] ― 2-b5- نَغَضَ أَمْرُهُ (assumed tropical:) His affair, or case, was, or became, in a weak, or unsound, state; syn. وَهَى. (TA.) ＝ 1-A2- See also 4, in two places.

اَوۡ خَلۡقًا مِّمَّا یَکۡبُرُ فِیۡ صُدُوۡرِکُمۡ ۚ فَسَیَقُوۡلُوۡنَ مَنۡ یُّعِیۡدُنَا ۖ قُلِ الَّذِیۡ فَطَرَکُمۡ اَوَّلَ مَرَّۃٍ ۚ فَسَیُنۡغِضُوۡنَ اِلَیۡکَ رُءُوۡسَہُمۡ وَیَقُوۡلُوۡنَ مَتٰی ہُوَ ۖ قُلۡ عَسٰۤی اَنۡ یَّکُوۡنَ قَرِیۡبًا

‘Or created matter of any kind which appears hardest in your minds, even then shall you be raised up.’ Then will they ask, ‘Who shall restore us to life?’ Say, ‘He Who created you the first time.’ They will then shake their heads at thee and say, ‘When will it be?’ Say, ‘Maybe it is nigh,
